ChatiGator

Inspiration

After experimenting with Verizon's current chatbot, we saw areas that could be improved upon. These areas are what we targeted for ChatiGator.

What it does

ChatiGator is a generative AI chatbot that acts as an approachable virtual assistant and helps verizon customers explore their available services and products without the need for a human customer support representative.

How we built it

ChatiGator utilizes OpenAI to generate responses targeted towards Verizon customers to act as an approachable virtual assistant that helps them explore Verizon's available services and products without the need for a human customer support representative.

Challenges we ran into

When creating ChatiGator, we did not know how to make a chatbot, use JavaScript, integrate OpenAI's library into Python, or combine any of those elements with one another.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We learned how to use the OpenAI Python library, as well as Flask. This allowed us to become more comfortable with integrating web-development with back-end processes and has given us experience that we can take and explore further.

What's next for ChatiGator

In the future, we are planning on expanding ChatiGator's functionality to include multi-lingual processing, along with customized recommendations based on demographic info.
