Inspiration

Being ghosted or feeling the need to ghost someone after a first date is a theme that just kept coming up among friends and on social media. Most daters would like to be honest, but struggle with vulnerability and communication. This makes texting after a date feel awkward and hard.

What it does

Caspr allows daters to give and receive gentle, respectful feedback after a first date. This way, they get closure, and clear answers (will there be another date? what did they like about me?...).

How we built it

We worked on the user journey, brainstormed, did lots of research on the market, then started the project in Joel's Bolt account and finished in Alison's Bolt account. Every single feature and element was built in Bolt, except for the imported logo.

Challenges we ran into

We had to try a few different prompts to get a functional output, but we are thrilled with the result.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We started the project quite late as we pivoted from a different idea, so we were able to launch something good in a very short timeframe. The hackathon deadline definitely helped us stay focused and on track.

What we learned

So much! Designing a complete user journey without skipping key steps, identifying that product market fit... Alison is a non tech total beginner and has only been using Bolt for a couple of months.

What's next for Caspr.social

The MVP is ready so we are currently putting our marketing plan together to test and launch with a significant number of users. In the long run, we would like to expand to help combat ghosting in all types of personal relationships, not just after a first date.
