RISE

Inspiration

What it does

We understand the cruel reality of lived experiences women undergo in domestic violence. We believe the culture and change will happen within society through education and social action in order to crumble the systemic injustices. As the outlets that exist are limited and a gamble to women's protection and safety, we are taking the leap forward and designing the world we want to live to see. Therefore, access to a safe community where women have the opportunity to empower themselves financially supported by their long-term contributions. This rewrites the narrative and empowers women to have control individually they write their own story and recover in a healthy and financially stable way.

How we built it

We work with a straight workflow approach from the idea, design, and data analysis development. We used HTML and Javascript to develop the code and graphic design software to create the generative art.

Challenges we ran into

Centering the mission and purpose of the DAO as domestic violence has many long-term effects on women. How to cultivate a space for women where discretion and their identity are protected due to safety concerns. How can this be accessed without being a threat to their lives.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

Being able to participate and complete our first hackathon was extremely motivating. Learning how to code and implement it during the weekend. Being able to participate as an all women's team and represent the social change to empower this upcoming generation of users.

What we learned

We can't knock it until we try it. All of this is very new in the world of Web3 and we are early adopters in this space. It's up to us to be leaders and change agents for the inclusion of this social model to be come a reality through educating the masses.

What's next for RISE

We are moving forward with the project and actively building the future of RISE as a DAO. This was the planting of the first steps and we will now cement our work locally to transcend the mission we envision for women in Puerto Rico.
