Inspiration:

We wanted to create a customer journaling app where, instead of keeping records of each and every payment, a business owner could log details about their customers like writing a journal. However, after a few attempts, it didn't work as we expected. So, we started creating a No-code AI chatbot generator. Since we had already created a chatbot for our website using the Gemini API, we thought, "What if others could create chatbots for their sites just like us, but without spending hours writing prompts?" Our product could help them. We also added an SEO writing tool and a business strategy planner to Busigen and almost burnt through all our tokens. Then we learned that Bolt had given out 5M extra tokens (Maybe someone from our referrals upgraded to pro), so we opened the laptop and tried to reshape our idea of a Customer Journaling System.

We had the Elevenlabs API and decided to use that for our new tool. Before that, I had created an invoicing system last month using bolt, which didn't go very well. It started working smoothly after Sonnet 4.0 model integration. Then it occurred to us: "What if users, who are also business owners, could talk to their data?" Finally, we sat down for some "vibe coding" and built this AI assistant tool.

What it does

Busigen is a comprehensive AI-powered platform we designed to empower businesses with intelligent tools for growth and efficiency. At its core, Busigen offers an AI Business Assistant, a conversational interface that provides real-time insights into a user's business data, tracks performance, and offers intelligent recommendations through both voice and text interactions. Beyond this, our platform includes a Chatbot Generator for creating custom, context-aware AI chatbots for websites, an SEO Writer that leverages AI to produce optimized content for search engines, and a Strategy Planner to assist in developing data-driven business strategies.

The Custom AI Chatbot Generator was our first created tool. Users can simply use their own Gemini API to create chatbots for their business.

Additionally, Busigen provides robust Invoice Management capabilities, allowing users to create, track, and manage invoices seamlessly. Busigen aims to simplify complex business operations, enhance customer engagement, and drive informed decision-making through the power of artificial intelligence.

How we built it

Busigen was built entirely with Bolt.new, using a modern web development stack to ensure a responsive, scalable, and intuitive user experience. The frontend is developed with React and TypeScript, styled efficiently with Tailwind CSS for a clean and customizable interface.

The backend infrastructure is powered by Supabase, serving as our PostgreSQL database, handling user authentication, and providing real-time data synchronization. Critical AI functionalities, such as the AI Business Assistant, are implemented using Supabase Edge Functions, which interact with external AI models like Google Gemini API for natural language processing and Eleven Labs for text-to-speech capabilities. This serverless approach ensures high performance and scalability for AI interactions. Form handling is streamlined with React Hook Form, and UI components are built using Lucide React for consistent iconography.

Challenges we ran into:

One significant hurdle was the seamless integration of multiple external AI APIs, specifically the Google Gemini API for conversational intelligence and Eleven Labs for realistic voice synthesis within the AI Business Assistant. Ensuring smooth data flow between these services and my Supabase backend, while maintaining low latency for real-time interactions, required careful orchestration.

Another challenge involved designing a flexible and robust data model within Supabase that could accommodate diverse business data (invoices, chatbots, business profiles) and allow the AI assistant to intelligently query and interpret this information. Implementing comprehensive Row Level Security (RLS) policies in Supabase was crucial to ensure that users could only access their own sensitive business data, adding a layer of complexity to database interactions.

Finally, creating a user interface that was both powerful enough to expose advanced AI features and simple enough for non-technical users to navigate intuitively was a continuous design and development challenge.

Being an aspiring entrepreneur from a non-tech background, it is hard to fix bugs. We both struggled a lot to fix errors , had to revert back multiple times. But, we are sure we can take it to the next level with more Bolt tokens in future.

Accomplishments that We are proud of

We are particularly proud of several key accomplishments in building Busigen. Foremost among these is the successful implementation of the AI Business Assistant, which truly acts as an intelligent companion capable of understanding natural language queries and providing actionable insights based on a user's specific business data. The integration of voice input and output for the assistant represents a significant step towards a more natural and accessible user experience.

What we learned:

Honestly, using Bolt was a game-changer for me. It allowed us to move at an astonishing pace, transforming ideas into a functional, full-stack application far quicker than we ever anticipated. We truly experienced what it means to "vibe code"—focusing on the core concept and desired functionality, while Bolt handled a lot of the underlying complexity. This meant less time wrestling with boilerplate code and more time innovating on the AI features themselves.

What's next for Busigen

The journey for Busigen is just beginning! We're incredibly excited about the potential to further empower businesses with AI. Our immediate focus is on continuously enhancing the AI Business Assistant, making it even smarter and more intuitive. This means integrating with more data sources, providing deeper, more personalized insights, and expanding its ability to handle complex, multi-turn conversations. We envision it becoming an indispensable, proactive partner for every business owner.

Beyond that, we plan to explore and develop even more specialized AI tools within the Busigen ecosystem. Imagine AI-powered financial forecasting, advanced marketing campaign optimization, or even automated customer support workflows. We'll be listening closely to user feedback to guide our development, ensuring we build features that truly solve real-world business problems. Our goal is to continue democratizing access to cutting-edge AI, making powerful capabilities available to every business, regardless of their technical expertise, and helping them thrive in an increasingly data-driven world.
