What it does

Qast is an IoT enabled mobile (iOS) app that connects users to microlocation-based audio experiences. The app allows hosts & venues to curate multiple audio experiences in one location through geofencing technology. Upon launch, the app features a virtual display of the connected Bose AR device with configuration instructions. After successful configuration, the following page will provide a detailed list of nearby venues hosting spatial audio events with categorized genre icons. The venue expansion page will illustrate a map of the location’s floorplan with color coordinated zones highlighting the different audio experiences. Zones will contain an embedded image of the playing song’s album cover. As a user moves towards a specific zone, the volume of the approaching song increases. Using Bose AR hardware, users can initiate a preview mode of other zones by gazing in a certain direction and using already embedded gesture functionalities. Users will have the ability to save songs being played and store selections in a local or cloud playlist.

What's next for Qast

30-day:

• Database with dynamic outdoor SoundRegions and an application that can consume that data and overlay them on the UI

• Ability to add and remove SoundRegions

• UI Implementation of customer-experience mockups (not admin)

60-day:

• Basic venue editor, letting the venue owners curate their own experiences
