Inspiration

Inspired by Gabby Beckford’s creator brief and her audience of ambitious women who struggle to turn inspiration into action. I wanted to build something that helps people move forward through small daily wins instead of overwhelming goals.

What it does

Bold Year delivers one micro-action per day based on selected journeys like travel, money confidence, or mindset. Users build momentum through confidence points, streaks, and identity levels. Premium creator journeys and tools are unlocked via RevenueCat subscriptions.

How I built it

Flutter mobile app with custom UI. RevenueCat for subscriptions and entitlements. Local storage for MVP progress. Google Play Internal Testing for distribution.

Challenges I ran into

Designing gamification that felt empowering, not childish. First-time Google Play Console setup and policy requirements. Integrating RevenueCat subscriptions and testing purchase flows. Balancing feature scope with MVP speed.

Accomplishments that I'm proud of

Shipped a full working MVP with monetization. Implemented RevenueCat subscriptions. Designed identity-based progress instead of traditional task lists. Built a complete user loop: action → celebration → momentum. Delivered a creator-aligned experience in a short timeframe.

What I learned

Small wins + emotional feedback are powerful motivators. Clear UX matters more than feature count. Monetization should feel like self-investment, not a paywall. AI-assisted development dramatically speeds up iteration when paired with product thinking.

What's next for Bold Year

Creator studio where influencers like Gabby can publish their own journeys. Cloud sync so progress persists across devices. Community features and shared milestones. Analytics for creators to see how their audience progresses.
