Inspiration

BitBitMami is a women-led platform, developed by a diverse team with a shared mission – to bridge the gap between Bitcoin’s potential and the financial realities faced by women in Latin America. We know that, despite its transformative power, Bitcoin adoption in the region remains limited, particularly among women, small businesses, and local vendors. Many struggle to integrate Bitcoin into their daily operations, missing out on the benefits of this decentralized, borderless technology.

Inspired by this challenge, we created BitBitMami – a platform designed to support women in building financial resilience through flexible Bitcoin savings, private payments, financial education, and circular economy tools. Our mission is to make Bitcoin accessible, practical, and impactful for everyone - especially for women who want to build a better financial future for themselves and their communities.

What it does

BitBitMami is a user-friendly, visually engaging toolkit designed to guide users into the Bitcoin ecosystem. It offers:

How we built it

4	Privacy Layer	Rebar Shield for private, non-custodial Bitcoin transactions, leveraging route blinding and e-cash concepts for maximum security.
5	Data Analytics	Rebar Data for real-time Bitcoin insights, MEV modeling & analytics.
6	Mapping and Visualizations	Mapbox GL JS for geographic business mapping, Recharts library for visually engaging charts and Zustand for lightweight state management, powering real-time updates in charts and interactive components.
7	Design System	TailwindCSS for aesthetic coherence and rapid prototyping, ensuring a visually consistent and responsive design.
8	Interface & Interaction Tools	React-qr-code for payments via QR interaction and Bitcoin Design Foundation Icons for visual alignment with the Bitcoin ecosystem.

Challenges we ran into

Building BitBitMami has been a journey of resilience and determination. Some of our biggest challenges include:

• Breaking Technical Barriers – Integrating complex technologies such as privacy layers like Rebar Shield without compromising user experience.

• Creating Emotional Engagement – Using Three.js to create a custom, emotionally resonant UI for a unique financial experience.

• Maintaining Non-Custodial Security – Balancing security with user-friendly design to ensure full control over funds without requiring financial licenses.

• Personal Struggles – Balancing work schedules with personal challenges, like intense pregnancy symptoms and family severe health issues.

What's next for BitBitMami

With the MVP taking shape, our next steps are to:

• Complete Development – Finalize the app’s core features.

• Create Community Campaigns – Attract local businesses and service providers, drive user growth, and promote real-world Bitcoin transactions through targeted marketing for our app.

• Launch to the Public – Roll out the app to women in Latin America.

• Raise Funds for Growth – Use potential prize money to scale the project and attract investors.

• Expand the Team – Formalize our structure to better support our long-term vision.
