Inspiration: Bees & Earth's Eco Sustainability and Public Art for Social Good The video will talk about the Bee Sculpture concept and my ultimate goal.
What it does: You tweet/text to one Bee sculpture. It entirely lights up and tells the other Bee sculpture's stingers to light-up.
How I built it: I used bouncy-balls, recycled materials and fabric to construct about 14 canvas Bees that sit about 2' high and 3.5' long. The stingers are black or reflective material but I do have transparent plastic if needs to be changed. One ball has hollow center for LED lights.
Challenges I ran into: I don't know how to program the Arduino & FadeCandy (optional). It will also be my first time trying Text/Alert.
Accomplishments that I'm proud of: Participating in IoTFuse, HackDay 2014 and other local projects with IoTMpls. I'm also proud to have Presented at the Met Digital Media Lab, attended Games for Change & was Guest Artist at Cooper Hewitt's new Digitally Immersive Gallery in 2015.
What I learned: Teamwork & Community make the best Art!
What's next for BeeAwesome: HackDay 2015!!! I will be sharing the finished works at the Museum Computer Network's Annual Conference's After Party Art Gala and a prior Public Art Opening Event too.
