✨Inspiration ✨

Humans cause 89% of annual wildfires. Wildfires can happen anywhere in the United States. Wildfires burn 5-10 million acres in the United States every year. These fires spread so fast that the firefighters are unable to locate the direction of its flow, in order to stop it earlier and quicker.

Moreover, fire is responsible for not only taking lives of its habitants but also contributing to global warming. The smoke created by the fire is toxic, and roams in the air in the follow up weeks, decreasing the quality of air.

In response, we came up with BlazigNal channels our sorrow into action, protecting, healing, and preserving.

What it does 📱

The BlazingNal app excels in identifying nearby fires or potential fire hazards. It not only offers individuals a meticulously devised escape plan for efficient evacuation but also outlines the subsequent steps to take after safely fleeing the fire's grasp. Users can seamlessly access the latest blogs concerning forest fires and various fire incidents. Additionally, the app hosts a interactive chat feature, allowing users to communicate with others and provide reassurance of their safety.

How we built it ⚒

BlazingNal's journey commenced with a team member crafting a Figma prototype. This creative spark ignited inspiration in another member, leading them to bring the concept to life through a website crafted with HTML and CSS

Challenges we ran into ❓

Undoubtedly, time posed a significant challenge as we ambitiously tackled everything within a mere two days. Our initial idea was to develop a prototype using Flutter. Unfortunately, we failed in that. However, despite these obstacles, we stand here today with our project—a testament to our collective perseverance and the hurdles we triumphantly overcame.

Accomplishments that we're proud of 💪

As this was Aditi's inaugural participation in a hackathon, she found the experience delightful and eagerly anticipates engaging in more such events. Lastly, the holistic experience of this project served as a valuable learning opportunity.

What we learned🧠

We delved into the complexities of forest fires, comprehending the vital need for their protection. Concurrently, we honed our time management skills. Notably, Aditi, a biology student, grasped concepts in CS and coding, mastering Figma.

What's next for BlazingNal 🌌

Blazignal's upcoming steps involve crafting a prototype app through Dart language acquisition. Our roadmap includes refining a new iteration that incorporates tsunami detection capabilities.
