Inspiration
Mobile applications represent most of the used software today. Understanding how people view these applications is crucial to creating and marketing applications.
What it does
This project contains intuitive, interactive and professionally looking data visualizations and analysis relating to the dataset.
How we built it
We split the project into 3 parts: data cleaning, data processing, and visualization/website. Technologies used are listed in the built with section.
Challenges we ran into
We ran into several challenges with data cleaning, as the data was not fit for analysis in the slightest. We had trouble with WebPack and how to use it in conjunction with AmCharts 4. We also tried to do some predictive models, but due to the nature of the data, it didn't work for many of the models we tried. We also had some language issues (ie how to use Python in html).
Accomplishments that we're proud of
Firstly, we are very happy with how this turned out, given that it is all of our first times with data hackathons. In particular, we are happy with the visualizations - neither AmCharts 4 nor Tableau were used by any team member prior to the hackathon.
What we learned
We learned several technical skills, including AmCharts 4 and Tableau as mentioned above.
What's next for App Behavior
While this may be the final project, more data analysis with linear and non-linear regressions can be conducted for better predictive models. More visualizations akin to the map could be made as well. If more time permitted we would have brought in more data sets.
