Inspiration
The inspiration for Air Battle came from classic arcade games like 1942 and Raiden.
What it does
Air Battle is a retro style game that lets you pilot a fighter plane and engage in dogfights against enemy aircraft.
How we built it
Air Battle is built using the Pygame library, which provides a framework for creating 2D games in Python. I used various tools and techniques such as collision detection, sprite masks for pixel perfect collision, and sound mixing to create a polished and immersive game.
Challenges we ran into
I had to balance the difficulty and pacing of the game to make it challenging but not frustrating for players.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
I am proud of creating a game that is both fun and nostalgic to play. Also, I learned new skills while developing this game which has helped me grow my perspective.
What we learned
I learned how to use Pygame to create 2D games in Python, and how to implement various game mechanics such as movement, shooting, and collision detection.
What's next for Air Battle
In the future, I plan to add more levels, different enemies, enemy boss, weapons, and upgrades to the game.
