PI-Corp: Empowering Farmers with Technology

Inspiration:

The technology sector offers numerous structured learning platforms, but the agricultural community lacks similar resources tailored to their unique needs. This disparity inspired the creation of PI-Corp—a comprehensive platform designed to educate and assist farmers throughout the entire farming process, from seed selection to harvest.

What it does:

PI-Corp provides farmers with:

  • Personalized Educational Roadmaps: Structured guidance covering all farming stages, ensuring informed decision-making.
  • AI-Powered Crop Recommendations: Analyzes soil images and weather forecasts to suggest optimal crops for cultivation.
  • Real-Time Farmland Monitoring: Utilizes Raspberry Pi devices to collect and analyze real-time data on soil conditions and environmental factors.
  • Threat Detection and Alerts: Identifies potential issues such as pests or fires and notifies farmers promptly.
  • Comprehensive Financial Planning: Provides detailed cost and yield estimates for selected crops, aiding in financial decision-making.

This project was developed at Hacklahoma 2025.

How we built it:

Our development process involved:

  • Hardware Integration: Deployed Raspberry Pi devices equipped with sensors to gather real-time environmental data.
  • AI and Machine Learning: Developed algorithms to analyze soil images and weather data, providing crop recommendations and threat detection.
  • User Interface Design: Created an intuitive interface displaying educational roadmaps, real-time data, and alerts, ensuring accessibility for farmers with varying technological proficiency.

Challenges we ran into:

  • Data Collection in Remote Areas: Ensuring reliable data transmission from Raspberry Pi devices in areas with limited connectivity.
