Inspiration
Millions of families in the U.S. hav no choice to but to have a young child, elderly, or handicapped family member fly alone to a destination, and this can be a very scary not only for the passenger flying but also for the passenger's family.
What it does
Upon buying a ticket, a QR code is generated that can be printed and applied to the single flyers carry on luggage. After entering the airport, the QR code can be scanned by any AA employee to update the passengers “Task List”. The Family can at any time view what step of flying their family member is at, or request updates if no change has occurred for an extended period. If an update cannot be provided by staff or the family a notification will be put out across the service to search for the passenger.
How we built it
We used python, html, javascript, Django, and we coded it in Visual Studio Code
Challenges we ran into
The main challenge we ran into was obviously the time constraint, we had lots of ideas but because of time we struggled with implementing those ideas.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We were a team formed through the team formation so we didn't really know each other to well so it was a new group of people we had to work with but regardless of that we were able to work together to create it.
What we learned
We had a few first time hackers on the team so we had to get learn to work together.
What's next for AAir Buddy
We want to implement QR code api and scanner, notification system, parental view and many more!
