Inspiration
We were shocked by the digital divide caused by a lack of tech literacy among different populations. The prevalence of online scam operations alongside a general lack of awareness and/or expertise among netizens seemed an especially exigent concern to target.
What it does
Uses a cloud based large language model to provide accessible personal security guidance and education to create a safer digital world. Platform is structured as a web app with user accounts and authentication.
How we built it
Our client/server model is built on Next.js for server side generation. We used the Node.js environment and integrations with MongoDB and Cloudflare Workers AI to process persistent data and requests.
Challenges we ran into
Understanding these new technologies (Cloudflare as well as learning React and CSS for most of the team). Working with Cloudflare Workers AI proved to be an exciting challenge for many of us because of its impressive results, but it wasn't completely consistent in response time. Also, we ran into issues when deploying the web app, which included authenticating users and integrating the LLM into our web app.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
Learning new languages! All of us except for one had no front end development experience and had to learn during this weekend. We had barely any experience with MongoDB and no experience with email/password authentication. We also gained valuable experience working with cloud based Large Language Models. With the time provided and our own research we developed a fully-featured web app.

What's next for #1SeCUREPod
In order to better understand the challenges facing today’s internet, we plan to start interviewing members of the population regarding their tech literacy. Additionally, we want to automatically catch some common scams using up to date knowledge.
