About the challenge
We're super excited to have you at the DE10 Hackathon - a part of our 10th-anniversary celebrations on September 21st at the Great Hall, Imperial College London. This is not just a day of innovation—it's a full experience filled with exciting activities, delicious food, and fantastic prizes!
The main event will run 10.00 am - 19.00 pm BST. Here's a brief outline of the day’s schedule:
- 10:00 - 11:00: Registration
- 11:00 - 11:45: Opening ceremony (Great Hall)
- 11:45 - 13:30: Hacking (QTR)
- 12:30: Lunch served (Outside QTR)
- 13:30 - 17:00: Hacking (QTR)
- 17:00: SUBMISISON DEADLINE
- 17:00 - 18:30: Dinner (QTR)
- 17:30 - 18:15: Project judging (QTR)
- 18:30 - 19:00: Closing ceremony (Great Hall)
- 19:00 onwards: Dinner and social activities (Dyson)

Requirements
What to Build
Participants can submit projects that include software, hardware, or a combination of both. Submissions can range from IoT devices, embedded systems, machine learning models, mock up bords, looks-like/works-like prototypes, videosWhat to Submit
- Project Overview (150-200 words): Briefly introduce the problem you are solving and explain the core idea of your solution. This should highlight the innovation and creativity by emphasising how your idea is unique and how it differs from existing concepts.
- Technical Implementation (150-250 words): Provide a detailed breakdown of how the solution works, covering the technical feasibility. Teams should include key technologies, engineering challenges, and how they overcame them.
- Impact and Relevance (150-250 words): Discuss how the solution addresses the hackathon's theme, such as health, sustainability, education, or social issues. This section should align with the impact and relevance, showcasing the potential impact and benefits of the solution.
- User Experience and Design (100-150 words): Highlight how user-centric the design is, focusing on how intuitive the solution is for users. Teams should mention design choices, usability, and how the solution solves real user problems efficiently (15%).
- Pitch and Presentation (Infographic): Create an engaging infographic that visually represents the solution, including key features, user flow, and technical architecture. This visual element enhances the pitch and 3-minute presentation
