Our esteemed judges, drawn from diverse and respected industry backgrounds, rigorously evaluate each application, focusing solely on merit and achievement.

As cybersecurity continues to be a global challenge, we are proud to unveil the next evolution of our awards.

Starting in 2025, winners will be announced online, making recognition more accessible to innovators everywhere, while still offering an exclusive hospitality package for selected winners to collect their awards in person at leading partner conferences in Singapore, Vietnam, Thailand, Cambodia, Dubai, and Denmark.

With a digital reach of more than 1.6 million cybersecurity professionals worldwide, the Cyber Security Awards remain at the forefront of innovation in recognising talent, celebrating progress, and connecting the global cybersecurity community.

Cyber Security Leader of the Year

The Cyber Security Leader of the Year award recognises an individual who has demonstrated outstanding leadership within the cybersecurity industry. This award celebrates leaders who have delivered measurable achievements, contributed to the growth and advancement of the industry, and inspired others through mentorship and professional development. It highlights those who not only drive innovation and strategy but also serve as role models, shaping the future of cybersecurity.

Judges will score entries for this category based on the following judging criteria: 

Leadership: Evidence of exceptional leadership qualities, including the ability to inspire, motivate, and engage teams, stakeholders, and board members, and the ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical audiences.

Contribution to the Industry: Evidence of contributions to the cybersecurity industry through thought leadership, innovation, collaboration with peers, or active participation in industry initiatives.

Achievement: Evidence of significant achievements and recognition within the cybersecurity industry, including awards, publications, speaking engagements, or other measurable milestones.

Developing Others: Evidence of efforts to mentor and develop others in the cybersecurity industry, including the creation of training programmes, mentorship initiatives, or other educational activities. 

Entry Fee: £50 for the first entry, £25 for each additional entry (applies to all categories, individual and company awards).

Cyber Security Professional of the Year

The Cyber Security Professional of the Year award celebrates an individual who has consistently demonstrated excellence, expertise, and dedication in their role within the cybersecurity industry. This award recognises professionals who deliver measurable results, contribute to the advancement of the industry, and show a strong commitment to ongoing growth and development. It highlights those who embody professionalism and integrity while supporting the success of their peers and organisations.

Judges will score entries for this category based on the following judging criteria: 

Achievement: Evidence of significant achievements and recognition within the cybersecurity industry, including successful projects, publications, speaking engagements, or other measurable outcomes.

Contribution to the Industry: Evidence of contributions to the cybersecurity industry through thought leadership, innovation, collaboration with peers, or active participation in industry initiatives.

Dedication: Evidence of a strong commitment to cybersecurity, demonstrated through ongoing professional development, pursuit of excellence, and a proactive approach to addressing challenges. 

Developing Others: Evidence of efforts to mentor and support colleagues or the wider community, including the development of training programmes, mentorship initiatives, or other educational activities.

Cyber Security Advocate of the Year

The Cyber Security Advocate of the Year award recognises an individual who has made a significant impact by championing awareness, education, and inclusion in cybersecurity. This award celebrates advocates who work to raise the profile of the industry, promote diversity, and inspire stronger cyber resilience across society. It highlights those who use their voice and influence to create meaningful change and empower communities.

Judges will score entries for this category based on the following judging criteria: 

Enforcing Awareness: Evidence of efforts to raise awareness of cybersecurity risks and promote best practices among individuals, organisations, and communities.

Enforcing Diversity: Evidence of initiatives, policies, or advocacy that promote diversity and inclusion, encouraging underrepresented groups to enter and thrive in cybersecurity roles.

Contribution to the Industry: Evidence of contributions to advancing the cybersecurity profession through thought leadership, innovation, or collaboration with peers. 

Achievement: Evidence of significant achievements and recognition in advocacy, including measurable impact, campaigns, or awards.

Rising Star in Cyber Security

The Rising Star in Cyber Security award acknowledges an emerging professional who has demonstrated exceptional promise early in their career. This award celebrates individuals who are already making a measurable impact through creativity, skill, and commitment, despite only recently entering the industry. It highlights those who show potential for future leadership and are driving positive change from the outset of their careers.

Judges will score entries for this category based on the following judging criteria: 

Achievement: Evidence of early-career accomplishments and measurable successes that demonstrate excellence and potential.

Proactiveness: Evidence of taking initiative, anticipating challenges, and actively seeking opportunities to contribute and innovate.

Dedication: Evidence of a strong commitment to professional growth, continuous learning, and advancing within the cybersecurity industry. 

Contribution to the Industry: Evidence of positive contributions to the wider cybersecurity profession through collaboration, innovation, or thought leadership.

Cyber Security Influencer of the Year

The Cyber Security Influencer of the Year award recognises an individual who has demonstrated exceptional influence within the cybersecurity industry. Evidence of Influence: Evidence of an individual’s influence in the cybersecurity industry, including the size and engagement of their audience and their impact on raising the profile of cybersecurity.

Raising Profile of Cyber Security: Evidence of efforts to elevate the visibility and importance of cybersecurity, through initiatives such as speaking engagements, thought leadership, or educational programmes.

Enforcing Awareness: Evidence of efforts to raise awareness of cybersecurity risks and promote best practices among individuals, organisations, and communities.

Enforcing Diversity: Evidence of initiatives or advocacy that promote diversity and inclusion, encouraging underrepresented groups to enter and thrive in cybersecurity roles.

Cyber Security Company of the Year

The Cyber Security Company of the Year award celebrates an organisation that has demonstrated exceptional achievements in advancing cybersecurity. It highlights organisations that combine commercial success with industry collaboration and a commitment to positive change. 

Judges will score entries for this category based on the following criteria: 

Achievement: Evidence of the company’s success and impact on the market, including growth, customer acquisition, recognition, or other measurable outcomes.

Leadership: Evidence of strong leadership at all levels of the organisation, including effective management, strategic vision, and a commitment to continuous improvement and innovation.

Teamwork: Evidence of effective collaboration, culture, and communication within the company, leading to the delivery of high-quality products or services.

Contributions to the Cyber Community: Evidence of contributions to the wider cybersecurity community, such as supporting industry initiatives, sharing expertise, or promoting diversity and inclusion.

Cyber Security Product of the Year

The Cyber Security Product of the Year award recognises a product that has delivered outstanding value and innovation in addressing cybersecurity challenges. This award celebrates solutions that demonstrate measurable impact, unique features, and customer success, while also contributing to the advancement of the wider industry.

Judges will score entries for this category based on the following criteria: 

Achievement: Evidence of the product’s significant achievements and impact on the market, including measurable results, customer feedback, or industry recognition.

Unique Selling Point: Evidence of the product’s unique features or innovations that differentiate it from others in the market.

Evidence of Benefiting the Market: Evidence of tangible benefits delivered to customers or the wider industry, including improved security outcomes, efficiencies, or new standards.

Industry Thought-Leader: Evidence of the company’s thought leadership in cybersecurity beyond the product, including contributions to research, industry events, or professional initiatives.

Cyber Security Service of the Year

The Cyber Security Service of the Year award recognises an organisation that has delivered outstanding cybersecurity services to its clients and contributed positively to the wider industry. This award celebrates service providers that combine expertise, dedication, and collaboration with measurable results, creating value for both their customers and the cybersecurity community.

Judges will score entries for this category based on the following criteria: 

Achievement: Evidence of significant accomplishments and recognition within the cybersecurity industry, including successful projects, innovative solutions, and positive feedback from clients. 

Teamwork: Evidence of effective collaboration among team members, leveraging strengths and expertise to deliver high-quality services that exceed client expectations.

Dedication: Evidence of a strong commitment to providing exceptional service, including proactive communication, responsive support, and ongoing improvement.

Contributions to the Cyber Community: Evidence of contributions to the wider cybersecurity community, such as supporting industry initiatives, sharing knowledge, or promoting inclusion.

Cyber Security Team of the Year

The Cyber Security Team of the Year award celebrates a group of professionals who have demonstrated excellence through collaboration, innovation, and delivery. This award recognises teams that achieve significant results by working effectively together, showing strong leadership and a commitment to advancing cybersecurity both within their organisation and the wider community.

Judges will score entries for this category based on the following criteria: 

Achievement: Evidence of significant accomplishments and recognition, including successful projects, measurable outcomes, or industry acknowledgement. 

Leadership: Evidence of effective leadership within the team, including clear vision, management, and the ability to inspire and motivate members.

Teamwork: Evidence of collaboration, culture, and communication that enabled the team to achieve outstanding results together.

Contributions to the Cyber Community: Evidence of positive contributions beyond the organisation, including supporting industry initiatives, sharing expertise, or promoting diversity and inclusion.

The Cyber Security Community of the Year award recognises a community, association, or initiative that has built meaningful connections, promoted education, and driven inclusivity within cybersecurity. Judges will score entries for this category based on the following criteria: 

Achievement: Evidence of measurable outcomes and recognition, including successful initiatives, growth, or long-term impact. 

Contributions to the Cyber Community: Evidence of meaningful contributions that strengthen the wider industry, such as supporting initiatives, sharing expertise, or fostering collaboration.

Enforcing Awareness: Evidence of efforts to raise awareness of cybersecurity risks and promote best practices among members and wider communities.

Enforcing Diversity: Evidence of initiatives or practices that promote diversity and inclusion, creating opportunities for underrepresented groups to participate and thrive.

The Cyber Security Awards were established in 2014, to reward the best individuals, teams, and companies within the cybersecurity industry. Excellence and innovation are core themes, throughout all categories.

A totally independent event, we have no affiliation to any magazines, organisations, or products. As a result, our judges are able to make all their decisions on merit alone.

The Cyber Security Awards team, reviews the industry, looking for the best possible applicants. We encourage all those, who are committed to progressing the industry, to apply. Our judges come from varied backgrounds and are some of the most well-regarded individuals within the industry.
