Tuft Stuff has created our own line of super thick wool yarn in 30 incredibly versatile colors and sold by the half pound and full pound. Though this yarn is thicker, we still recommend using two strands at a time in your projects for best results. You'll not only get twice the fluff but you can guarantee the strands stay in place while tufting and you'll cover more space with each row of stitches. Plus it stays put in your needle much better! The natural fibers in this wool hold up the best to regular foot traffic, generous spot cleaning, brushing and thousands of admiring hand-rubs. Wool is also naturally anti-microbial and water repellent due to the lanolin oils in the fibers. We decided to sell our yarn by the pound and half-pound because we know you won't always need double the color for a project even when using two strands is necessary. This is our preferred secondary or final backing for rug finishing with it's perfect thinness for finishing without adding too much additional bulk and it's slip-resistant silicone details. Just add this to the back of your rugs with spray adhesive or tacky tufting latex for a great professionally finished look. The silicone grips give this backing a rubberized stay allowing your homemade rugs to remain in place.
