Is Goyder’s Line shifting south? A research paper by Peter Hayman
Is Goyder’s Line shifting south? A research paper by Peter Hayman
• If Goyder’s Line is defined as the drier climate limit of wheat cropping, a warmer and, most likely, drier future will shift the line south. Trends and future projections of temperature are much clearer for temperature than rainfall. Warmer conditions will increase evaporation and the likelihood of heat events which will be a headwind for cropping.
