Introduction

Anthropic’s Claude Code has evolved from a conversational AI assistant into a comprehensive agentic development environment. With the release of Opus 4.5 and an expanding ecosystem of tools, the platform now offers capabilities that fundamentally change how developers interact with AI during the software development lifecycle.

This article examines the key components of Claude Code’s agentic toolkit, their technical implementations, and practical applications.

Model Architecture and Selection

Claude Code operates with three distinct model tiers, each optimized for different use cases:

Opus 4.5 represents Anthropic’s most capable model, designed for complex reasoning tasks. It handles multi-file architectural decisions, strategic planning, and nuanced code generation. The model excels at maintaining coherence across large codebases and understanding implicit requirements.

Sonnet 4 serves as the default model for everyday development tasks. It balances speed and capability, making it suitable for most coding operations without the computational overhead of Opus.

Haiku 3.5 provides rapid responses for straightforward tasks such as syntax corrections, simple refactoring, and quick file searches. Its lower latency makes it appropriate for high-frequency, low-complexity operations.

Developers can switch between models using the /model command, allowing dynamic optimization based on task requirements.

Cartographer: Automated Codebase Documentation

Cartographer is a built-in skill that generates comprehensive documentation of project structure and architecture. When invoked with /cartographer, the system:

1. Traverses the entire project directory structure

2. Analyzes file contents and relationships

3. Identifies coding patterns and conventions

4. Generates a CODEBASE_MAP.md file containing architectural documentation

The resulting documentation serves as persistent context that Claude can reference throughout development sessions. This addresses a fundamental limitation of large language models: the inability to maintain awareness of large codebases within context windows.

Technical implementation: Cartographer uses a combination of static analysis and pattern recognition to categorize files by purpose, identify dependency relationships, and extract naming conventions.

RIPER-5: Structured Development Protocol

RIPER-5 is a five-phase development methodology implemented as a Claude Code skill. The acronym represents:

Research: Information gathering phase where the AI explores the codebase, reads documentation, and understands requirements without making modifications.

Innovate: Brainstorming phase for generating potential approaches. Multiple solutions are considered with their respective trade-offs documented.

Plan: Specification creation phase where the selected approach is documented with implementation details, file changes, and testing strategies.

Execute: Implementation phase following the approved plan. Code changes are made according to specifications.

Review: Validation phase where implemented changes are tested against requirements and potential issues are identified.

Each phase has explicit entry and exit criteria, preventing premature implementation and ensuring thorough analysis before code changes.

Skills Ecosystem

Subagents: Parallel Execution Architecture

Subagents are specialized Claude instances that operate with independent context windows. This architecture addresses several technical challenges:

Context isolation: Each subagent maintains its own context, preventing token accumulation that degrades output quality in long sessions.

Tool specialization: Subagents can be configured with specific tool access. An exploration subagent might have read-only access, while an execution subagent has write permissions.

Parallel execution: Multiple subagents can operate simultaneously on independent tasks.

Built-in subagent types:

• Explore: Read-only access to Glob, Grep, and Read tools. Optimized for codebase searches.

• Plan: Research-focused agent for planning mode operations.

• General-purpose: Full tool access for complex multi-step tasks.

Subagents can be configured to use different model tiers. A common pattern uses Haiku for exploration tasks and Opus for complex reasoning, optimizing both cost and capability.

Ralph: Autonomous Loop Execution

Ralph implements a stop-hook architecture enabling extended autonomous operation. The system operates through the following mechanism:

1. A prompt is submitted with a completion promise (a specific string indicating task completion)

2. Claude processes the prompt and generates output

3. When Claude attempts to exit, a stop hook intercepts the termination

4. If the completion promise is not detected in the output, the original prompt is resubmitted

5. The loop continues until the completion promise appears or a maximum iteration count is reached

Key technical detail: While the prompt remains constant across iterations, file system changes persist. Each iteration sees the cumulative results of previous work, enabling progressive refinement.

Claude Agent SDK

The Claude Agent SDK provides programmatic access to Claude Code’s capabilities for integration into external systems. Available in Python and TypeScript, the SDK exposes:

Configuration options:

A typical development workflow incorporating these tools might follow this pattern:

1. Session initialization: Run /cartographer to generate current codebase documentation

2. Task analysis: Use /riper:research to understand requirements

3. Solution design: Apply /riper:plan to create implementation specifications

4. Execution: Use Opus 4.5

5. Batch operations: Deploy Ralph loops for building large features autonomously

6. Validation: Run /riper:review with webapp-testing skill for verification.

Conclusion

Prediction markets all participants to bet on the future outcome of an event. They are used in order to discover the best possible prediction about some future event in order to make better decisions in the present.

Origins:

Prediction markets in various forms have been around for centuries. In 1503 people were voting for the outcome of the Pope election. In late 1880’s betting percentages were estimated for presidential elections. The early research foundations on this topic was in 1945, a scholarly paper "The Use of Knowledge in Society" by economist Friedrich Hayek. It was one the most influential works on economy, it argues that centralized planned economy is limited in comparison to decentralized open markets, because it’s impossible to aggregate all the knowledge. That localized knowledge is more effective in making pricing decisions. That prices are signals important for facilitating coordination of individual actions. This paper was impactful in development of Wikipedia and Kalshi market.

In 1988 the University of Iowa’s Iowa Electronic Markets was formed, a research tool to predict election, with participants using their own funds to make prediction bets, the results were more accurate then traditional polls. More research continued in the 2000’s with Google using them internally to predict product releases, plus other corporations like Microsoft and Eli Lilly. 2006 CIA study “Using Prediction Markets to Enhance US Intelligence Capabilities: A ‘Standard & Poors 500 Index’ for Intelligence.” Congressmen were skeptical, criticized it as gambling, while academics were supportive. The Hollywood Stock Exchange (1996) correctly predicted 32 of 39 Oscar nominees in 2006. Robin Hanson was a researcher at George Mason University, ”Combinatorial information market design” in 2003 and “The promise of prediction markets” in 2008. His papers were very influential to the founder of Polymarket.

The theoretical research foundations show that predictions are made best when individuals have hard incentive of putting their money on their views. This is more effective then centralized planning, where individuals are biased, or do not have access to the aggregated information, as knowledge is by it’s nature decentralized. The individuals at the edges have the best information about the local process, the conditions and facts. The example used in “The Use of Knowledge in Society” - tin markets, the prices of tin are discovered by the supply and demand comparison, as buyers and sellers have options of where to make the trade. In essence prediction markets are there to incentives those with information asymmetry to profit from their knowledge. Prediction markets incentive those with insider information to profit from it. Our markets reflect accurate, unbiased, and real-time probabilities for the events that matter most to you. Markets seek truth.

Coinbase CEO Brian Armstrong stated: “If your goal is for 99% of people to get signal about what’s going to happen, you actually want insider trading.” Polymarket CEO Shayne Coplan said: “People having an edge to the market is a good thing...it’s sort of an inevitability.”

At the same time Polymarket gets a lot of criticism for ‘insider trading’ something that is not allowed in traditional markets, but here they are essentially their central point.

Kalshi

First founded in 2018 by Tarek Mansour and Luana Lopes Lara. They met at MIT, and inspired by the experiences working at major financial institutions, observing that many financial decisions were driven by predictions about future events. They saw an inefficiency, that they could make it more efficient to trade directly on event outcomes. The essentially reduced the job they were performing at Goldman Sachs to be most efficient.

They joined YC in 2019 and received funding from major VC’s, their goal being to build with regulatory approval. By 2024 they were the first approved to operate in the USA. Notably they were not developed as a blockchain prediction market, but as a traditional centralized one, later they were built on Solana and Tron. Now you can onramp with a crypto wallet from Ethereum or others, but it is not as open and permissionless as Polymarket.

They do have a builder program with $2 million in grants for “developer, creator, researcher, or entrepreneurs“ they are on Solana and Base.

What is Polymarket? From the source:

Markets seek truth.

This is a way for creating the most accurate predictions about future events. Participants trade contracts on future events, buy shares of yes and no votes. Shares are always priced at $1 every pair of outcomes is collateralized by $1 USDC. For example, a common topic is sports. You are not betting against the ‘house,’ only the counter party is another participant.

Prices are probabilities. Prices reflect supply and demand. You can sell your prices any time, prices get updated as news change. Economic incentives ensure market prices adjust to reflect true odds. More knowledgeable participants are incentivized. Polymarket is an opportunity for people to profit from their knowledge and people use Polymarket to make better informed decisions about future events.

On January 9, 2026 is an NHL match between the Minessota Wild and the Seattle Kraken. The image below shows the current bet for 60% chance of winning for Wild. Each ‘Yes’ share costs $0.60.

Milestones:

2020: Polymarket launched, by NYU dropout Shane Copeland. Founder finds traction through DM’ing people on crypto twitter and reddit.

2022: Fined US$1.4 million by the CFTC, agreeing not to operate in the U.S. - but fine was lowered because of ‘substantial cooperation’

2024: $3.6 billion volume during the U.S. elections. Correctly predicted Trump win over Harris while polls were ‘too close to call.’ Predicted that Biden would drop out of the race weeks before the announcement. In November founder’s home was raided, phone seized, searching for evidence investigating if allowed US users to make bets.

2025: October 2025, Intercontinental Exchange (ICE), the parent company of the New York Stock Exchange, announced a strategic investment of up to $2 billion in Polymarket, valuing the company at $9 billion post-money. 27-year-old founder Shayne Coplan becomes one of the world’s youngest self-made billionaires.

Early 2026: U.S. Re-entry: The platform is gradually relaunching in the U.S. with an invite-only beta for those on its waitlist. Dow Jones will feature Polymarket’s data, expanding its reach. Initial U.S. markets will include sports and politics, leveraging its global success

The recent controversy over a newly created Polymarket account won $436,000 betting on Venezuelan regime change just before the January 3rd US military strikes highlights that insider trading is continuing to be a part of the platform.

In contrast, internationally it has been banned in Switzerland, France, Poland, Singapore and Belgium for violating gambling laws. There are fundamental disagreements about whether prediction markets are sophisticated information aggregation tools or simply online gambling with a veneer of economic theory.

Polymarket Hybrid System

Polymarket order book is hybrid decentralized. This means it combines off-chain and on-chain parts. Users create orders off-chain, an operator matches them off-chain, and then triggers their execution via smart contracts. Shares are ERC-1155 tokens representing outcome positions, they are implemented using Gnosis’s Conditional Tokens Framework (CTF). USDC is used as collateral to mint and redeem shares.
USDC is deposited to mint shares. Shares are burned to redeem USDC after market resolution. Only winning outcome token holders receive payouts.

All trades are fully collateralized and the payout logic is handled non-custodially by the smart contracts.

New Opportunities for New Startups

This is very early days for prediction markets, it is like 1998 of the dot com bubble. There is an early mover advantage. Here are a couple areas in which there are opportunities:

Conclusion

Considering that we are so early in the world of prediction markets, called as the new ‘asset class’ that incentivize people to predict the future, what is the end game? It seems it is building better systems at aggregating and analyzing information. Better and better ‘deep research’ AI agent systems, who ever has the best AI prediction and data collection systems will be most rewarded on these markets.

Intro

This is a weekly newsletter that covers my journey in tech, talking about what I did this week and essays on various relevant topics.

Devconnect Week

On Monday I first attended an AI Agents Day conference in the morning. I stopped by to see what people were talking about, what were people building, what kind of companies were promoting themselves. I saw AI agents that trade your crypto automatically. This is a big topic, as that makes a lot of sense as you are using intelligence to get an edge in day trading, and other some fund management operations. These are things that are currently done for a high fee by fund managers. I stayed and walked around and checked out what kind of companies set up their booths in crypto and agentic AI. It was a brief overview then I went to the main Devconnect venue.

The venue was organized as a worlds fair, with different sections like Defi, Social, Gaming and different pavilions that housed more booths and stages for talks.

I got to demo my app Augmi.lol in front of a group at the Governance Geeks Community Hub. I went over the presentation slides and explained the background story of what this app is about. I recorded it and put it on YouTube here.

To make good use of my time here and to do something useful, I started interviewing people. My thinking was that I already have some really interesting conversations meeting people, so why not film it and share it with the world. So I set up a new channel to promote my startup now Augmi.lol - so find it at Youtube.com/@augmilol

They turned out really good and I will continue this to get better at public speaking, to learn more first hand from interesting founders and people in tech, and to create something interesting for the world. Plus as a bonus I will get to spread the word on my app and build up a reputation as someone knowledgable in the space of crypto and tech.

Some of the highlights were:

FOSS ASIA: An open source hardware builder community. I bought a programmable LED name tag and a multi tool for hardware. I used crypto to pay for this and had a long chat with one of the organizers. This stuff lights me up so I know I need to go deeper into open source hardware builder communities. I found out about their summit in March in Bangkok and will try to make it there. I also got inspired to host my own hardware meetups in Saigon. I learned first hand how this organization got started actually in Saigon, as a series of meetups, that posted their projects in a github, then organized a website and it grew into a large international Not For Profit organization. This is something that lights me up and something I need to pursue further in my own path.

Music Stage: Throughout the week there were always musicians performing on the music stage outside. I would walk through here and sometimes stay to enjoy the various musicians. On Tuesday there was Edge city DJ’s and it was a kind of reunion with many people there from the group. I felt free enough to dance, and just was creative with my moves and original. Sometimes when I feel relaxed I can tap into this global universal energy and flow, move my body in a coordinated manner that is really beautiful and an expression of the music as well as an exploration of the memories and reconnection with the feelings in my body.

Ethereum Phone: I interviewed the guys that made this device. It’s a cool story how a bunch of hackathon friends just got the courage that they could pull this off, found suppliers in China and combined all the hardware and software to come up with a fun, playful, colorful device. Gaming District: I was very attracted into the gaming district, I interviewed several people here. The world of onchain gaming is early, there will be a big boom here, because it allows for the blending of reality and games, because blockchain allows for digital assets to have real world value. I was especially excited about how Aavegotchi games are developed around a gamification of Defi protocols, and it is managed by a DAO, all of the game assets are public and the world of this game is open for anyone to build and innovate on. I listened to some talks by one of the Axie Infinity team members and their words about how they are stoic about pushing blockchain gaming forward, by listening to their user feedback, innovating and putting out new games, is something that made me convinced that this medium is going to keep growing and very soon will have another boom especially with AI. This later inspired me to build a an onchain education game on the Ronin Network for the Hackathon.

Trustless Agents Day: This was one of the inner mini conferences. The talks were around how AI and crypto is intersecting in the form of AI agents that perform actions on chain.

The ETHGlobal Hackathon: I created an interesting project and got third place from Ronin. You can find out more about it here https://ethglobal.com/showcase/juego-quest-i67n8 My takeaway from this experience was that I love doing this. I met again people that have kept attending the hackathons while I paused for a period, and I saw their progress, it inspired me to keep going. The space of web3 moves fast and by going to hackathons you can see the trends and be able to develop deep pattern recognition skills that allow you to get ahead as a innovator in the blockchain space.

Conclusion

This week was amazing. I only wrote down about 20% of all the amazing things I learned and that lit me up. This is a critical practice as so often we go through amazing week after amazing week and then we forget what are the critical things we learned about what direction to move into. For me it was about onchain gaming, organizing hackathons, events, education, onchain agents, and open source hardware community organizing. That’s all the time I have today for this. It takes a lot of time to write.

Intro

This is a weekly recap of all the most interesting things I did and thought about in my life as a digital nomad, developer and founder. Think of it as a letter to my future self or a report to someone that is curious to know more about what I’m up to in the world. This week was the final week of the Pop up city Edge City Patagonia.

Building Augmi at Argentina Onchain Residency

Since Monday I joined the Argentina Onchain program around designing and prototyping a blockchain app in response to one of a few prompts from the local Argentinian communities. In the first day I joined a group, we worked together on brainstorming solutions and project ideas for the local education system. I was happy to connect with a crypto app builder I had met four years before and that was the founder of a successful startup, wujiwuji is a legendary founder of “Interface” a social crypto trading app.

I continued my education solution project on my own and designed how it would work. It is an open source project that organizations and individuals can download and run on their own private servers, preserving their own data and privacy from large corporations which can be used against their interests. I showed the project to a local teacher, walked her through creating her own AI twin and talking about how the students would use it to have one on one personalized tutoring on the specific knowledge that the teacher input into the digital classroom. The response was very positive, that it would be good for High School kids and teachers that specialize in technology.

On Thursday we demoed all of our projects in a Science Fair style setup for the public community. I explained the app to a parent and her two young kids. She really was amazed by it and signed up for the waitlist. I showed them also a short 60 second AI video that explained what it is and the impact it can have. To a group of teenagers around nineteen years old I went more in depth on the code base, how we write code with AI and how LLM’s work and techniques like retrieval augmented generation that enable the AI to believably simulate your own personality.

On the last day Friday, we had a morning session to debrief and to share our learnings and experiences. It was a program that I really want to do more and deeper. This community helped push me harder to reach out to my audience, my clients, to help me develop more direction, more drive, to get feedback from my users, to get out of my bubble, to see how the user see’s the world, what problems they have and what I can offer them. I hope to organize more meetups that build a community of devs, founders and designers that can help each other advance in their journeys.

Last Demo Day

On the Friday afternoon we had the last town hall, demo day and in the evening a closing ceremony. The demo day was an opportunity for people to show what they built during the month or before. It took a full two hours. Some notable ones that were memorable were: 1. A post card sending service, where you paid for a postcard to be hand written in your own writing by a physical 2D printer and sent to the address you chose. 2. Punto Press: a crypto native zine publishing platform. 3. Meditation Hacker house: a community for meditation practitioners and developers.

Closing Ceremony

At the end of the demo day we got into shuttle buses and made it to a restaurant venue about 25 minutes away. The sun was setting over the lake, as we got into the place, it was open space, airy, on the outside there was a DJ booth, a patio and open grass. At the lake there was a pebbly beach. Inside were some booths setup with people’s art, and work, there were “hors d’oeuvres” and non alcoholic drinks. I ate, chatted and walked around. It was a good setup, I was glad they didn’t do a sit down dinner kind of thing. Everyone got an opportunity to approach and chat with people they didn’t chat with before. I made many positive new connections and built relationships.

Reflections on Edge City

This month was really great for building momentum on developing your thinking on a topic. I got into very many different topics and discussions, they all serendipitously cross pollinated and synergised. It was great for breaking out of old paradigms, old patterns and see what direction you want to take. It was a good balance of doing individual focused work on your project with open ended wandering and being open to serendipity. The biggest insight for me was that I need to build products for an audience, to get out of my bubble and talk to users. I discovered the value of “Praxis” that is of creating things, of publishing Substack articles, of launching apps, of creating AI films. I rediscovered the joy and value of organizing events, this is very important to develop your own personal brand, build a network and share ideas. We really only progress if we are surrounded by other people, working with and for other people constantly. We can’t progress as well by only interacting with the world through the internet, this reduces our connection, it reduces our ability to grow, we develop and learn so much faster by interacting with people in real life. I learned more how to follow my intuition, to follow my bliss. I heard about the Argentina Onchain Residency plan to build for the community and I decided to join those sessions, to clear my entire week and prioritize this. I knew I wanted to be there most of all in the whole world. The teachers and organizers sensed this and appreciated my enthusiasm and participation. The end result was a very positive development, experience, and a foundation for more development on the open source project Augmi.lol.

To conclude the month, I went on a hike in nature. This was very refreshing. It was very special to be in the wild nature. Then on Sunday I checked out of my Airbnb and made it to Buenos Aires. It was great to chat and exchange contact with more Edge city participants that were doing interesting things at the airport and the plane. I learned about Infinita City, a longevity pop up city in Roatan, Honduras, an tropical island. At Buenos Aires I made it to the Ethereum Cypherpunk Congress 2. I saw some talks, notably a prerecorded video by David Chaum, the founder of DigiCash, a major precursor to Bitcoin. In the address he called for the creation of decentralized private AI providers and personalized AI, topics that I think align with my own project and vision for Augmi - to create open source secure AI that is an extension of ourselves, and that is our digital twin. Being in Buenos Aires again was a thrill. On the taxi ride from the airport, I looked out at the city, hearing old 70’s rock music on the radio that I knew well. I got flashbacks to being there back in 2010, on a trip with my sister. That was over 15 years ago. I saw my progress in many ways as very significant, yet I had many dreams and hopes that are yet to be realized. Every day I am getting closer to it, all of this effort I put into my creating, into learning, into connecting, is compounding, it is a life style, it is the way I want to be. There are many ways to be, they way I want to be is to say thank you to the world by creating something that makes the world a little bit better, as a creative - technologist - inventor - startup founder. In a memorable quote by the American Transcendentalist Ralph Waldo Emerson, success is when you, amongst other things “… know even one life has breathed easier because you have lived …”. This is the view I subscribe to.

Conclusion

This was a very happy week, closing the chapter of Edge City month with the high note of demoing my app in front of local parents, students and teens. Getting to see a good friend that flew in from Chicago, decompressing in nature and making it to Buenos Aires for the privacy conference.

This is another week recap in the life of a digital nomad, crypto AI developer and entrepreneur. I am leaving these blogs as traces on my journey, they are works of art, letters to my future self and anyone that is curious about what is on my mind these days.

Hike in Nature

It was a great opportunity to be in nature here. Being in nature allows us to recharge, to heal, to regain feel a balance, a harmony with nature inside of us and outside. Seeing the patterns of nature inspires the mind, it has it’s own harmony, it is not random, the geometries of trees, streams, hills, vegetation, the ripples of the lake. The hike keeps your body moving, the blood and other bodily fluids circulating, stirring up the chemicals of the body.

My mind wandered to images of how sailors and explorers saw the world in the age of exploration, hundreds of years ago. To them nature was always around, the sea was a tough environment, enormous. They developed keen senses of invention, engineering, this is how they survived and some even thrived through trade and entrepreneurship. I went on a trek with a friend, we got lost, the second time, we made it to the island, went into the ice cold water and sat on the beach meditating, both in our own world, just two friends, companions on this hike, sharing stories, insights and dreams.

On Storytelling for Startups

Founders often solve problems that they faced themselves and overcame. They built some solution that helped them be better and do better. Then they apply it to a general public, to other people’s problems. They learned something, discovered some truth, they solved a problem. Then the story is about how they got better and how they can offer this to someone else. This is how a coach can frame offering some service. For example, I got better at this, here is how you can learn to do the same. At the workshop by Rebecca, there was a crowd of about 20 people, there to learn more about story telling. I shared my story about building an AI journaling app and not knowing how to sell it well. Then people chirped up contributing questions and comments, some very helpful like about how this tool can help you improve self awareness and activate higher self discovery. Then others shared interesting comments like about a guy that does enneagram tests for people. He described it as “night vision googles for understanding people.” That it helped him repair his relationship with his sister. Then someone commented, that people will then wonder “what else it can repair for them.” It’s about building worlds that people want to join. Like a good Disney movie, you find yourself immersed into the world of the characters.

Rebecca and I became platonic friends. We bonded at the first meeting during the Vibe Residency Friday night party, where I explained to her in a very clear way how Bitcoin and Ethereum worked, from the math, the programming and the human motivation aspects. I felt good that I was able to clearly explain it. Then we met serendipitously at an organic grocery store and then decided to go on a hike after a few other meetings and chats more interesting conversations on startups, technology and writing. We found out we have a common friend which is her co-founder on a fascinating AI Burning Man startup with her. She asked about how a writer can best contribute in the world of blockchain, my answer was that through sci-fi stories that imagine the future, which then inspire people to build it. Secondly through journalism, to explain the concepts and to educate. There were many stimulating conversations that we shared, cross pollinating ideas and styles of living that we shared.

Breath work Daily with Shane

In the third week we were fortunate to have daily breath work sessions, organized by the Consciousness Residency. It as facilitated by Shane, who has been leading similar sessions for groups at EDM festivals and shows. We breathed to melodic techno songs, nearly all of which were among my favorite songs of all time, and found on my favorite Spotify playlists from the 2019-2020 period of my life. For example the one linked above, the song Pluto by “Dreamer's Delight” which was my number one listened to song in 2019. Many of the songs were by groups originating from Denver. I was happy to meet someone that had the same music taste as me. We did some Qi Gong, then breathwork and the. meditation. On the first session afterwards I shared about how I left deeply “okay” with being tense and having a shallow breath. I was able to relax and accept things as they are without trying to force them.

Story of Bostrom Network

The origin of the Bostrom Network was a thesis from the AI scientist Nick Bostrom who proposed that the path to AGI may be through collective intelligence. This network was launched on the Cosmos SDK. It' is a collection of software protocols that forms a kind of decentralized Google. Links, content are deployed and voted on by a peer to peer network. This project was created by Dima, a crypto “OG” and the founder of Cyber Valley, a pioneering network state on the side of a volcano on the island of Bali. The audience listened to the story of how the project originated, how the launch went, how it went for a few years, what were some challenges, mistakes and lessons. The project front end allows for searching the ‘decentralized Google’ for content, that shows a list of links that are ranked by most valued by the community.

Vibe Code Launch Party

Vibe code residency launched their own “vibe coin” on a launch pad called long.xyz. They raised around $1.7 million in the first few hours. I joined the event, curious to be there, to chat with the people there, support the community and see what people were building there. I tested some 2D games on a game listing website that were created by kids under twelve years old. I played with one app that allowed you to upload a photo of yourself and get your ‘vibe score’ and see how you ranked on the leader board. Another project turned a 2D Edge City logo to a floating 3D object.

Quantum Computing Presentation

An Argentinian phD student and researcher from a Quantum Studies program at a Spanish University gave a talk about the current state of this field. He covered the latest developments, what the quantum community is like and what is the future. There were many questions from the audience, about how it can be applied or disrupt the blockchain technology. There is a lot of concern and discussion around how Bitcoin, Ethereum and other blockchains can be “quantum secure,” meaning not break the encryption protocols that underly the security of billions of dollars of value. The interesting comments were around how could AI be used to accelerate quantum studies and how Quantum can accelerate AI progress.

AI Film Club

On Saturday 11/8 I hosted a second edition of the AI film club. I lead the session, sharing tips, asking thoughtful questions and at the end everyone came together and shared what they created. I worked on a new AI short reel that explained in sixty seconds the history of crypto. I was hooked on creating film with AI. I created a script, then prompts for the AI image generator in Midjourney and then converted them to video. The end result linked here if you feel called to watch it.

Hypnosis Sessions

I want to a hypnosis session and for a few minutes I gave into the state of flow. I find hypnosis very interesting and powerful tool that I wish to develop a deeper expertise in.

Josh Whiton Entrepreneur Journey

I really found Josh’s talk to be really informative, eye opening and inspiring. He founded a GPS bus tracking startup in college, bought Tesla stock early, worked for the Thiel fellowship and got Vitalik the fellowship $100,000 stipend, he created an eco tech startup called “Make soil.” His story talks about how entrepreneurs just do things, how you have to be all in, and how you really can make it as a tech entrepreneur.

Open Internet Club

I was onboarded into this community on the Gnosis chain. There is a currency here that only can be traded among members. To join the community someone needs to vouch for you. This is a very interesting experiment in new types of currencies.

Working on Augmi.lol

I spent a few days working on trying to make the AI society simulator to work inside my web app called Augmi. I really hoped that I could modify the open source software repository AI town. I got very close, the world runs with AI clones in there but there are a few bugs. I decided to stop working on it at the last Friday, knowing I couldn’t demo it with this state and that it would take too much time. The open source repo allows for running the simulations but they are not very customizable. I will return to this when I have more time. I was feeling overwhelmed by the complexity of the project at the same time excited by it. and I got some wins by reimplementing the convex backend in Node.js, updating to Pixi v8, and getting the world and characters to appear and walk around in the world. I decided to prioritize other opportunities to push Augmi into a startup that answers the needs of local Argentinian communities. Next week I did that in the Argentina Onchain Residency. During the Agartha house halloween party I pulled out the Defensive Accelerations card, it told me that in my future I would build this type of technology. The following week this would come true, as I adapted Augmi to the distributed collective intelligence platform for the local Argentinian education system.

On Tuesday and Thursday I lead the run club. I met an interesting Edge City VC and a few other people. We had good conversations and runs.

Norbert Weiner Readings

On Thursday I joined the Human.tech residency Aparo reading of Chapter 2 of “Human use of Human Beings.” When I saw this on the calendar I knew I had to go there as this was a writer I deeply appreciated, a founding father of cybernetics, and essentially the AI field. He was from my home country of Poland and I had a deep sense of knowing what his personality and mind was like. Cybernetics talks about feedback systems as the nature of intelligence. We can see them at play all around us. Some moments I have the flash of insight into how his mind worked and what the book was describing.

The third week of Edge City was very busy, very active, also maybe I was too burned out. I really wanted to finish the society simulator but it ended up not working out. I pivoted to focus on how to build the education AI clone tool for local Argentinian education system.

Intro

This is a series of weekly blogs that are a mix of personal journaling and essays about technology, philosophy and other topics. I am writing with the intention to record my thoughts and insights as if I were writing to my mom or to my future self. This is the second week of Edge City Patagonia, a pop up city, a future society incubator in San Martin de los Andes, Argentina.

On Self Belief and Collective Intelligence

What does it mean to believe in yourself? This has been on my mind this week, as the breath work and meditation sessions, allowed me to reconnect with my “heart mind”, the Buddhist concept of “Bodhicitta.” This allows to find a new balance between the demands of the outside world and my inner world, between the brain and the heart. A second major theme this week has been the observation on how individuals only exist in the context of our surroundings, as a collective intelligence, and what the evolution of society and the self will be like in the future, with AI beings. This is something I am exploring and building with my AI startup Augmi.lol - a place where you create your digital self and create simulations of societies of AI and humans.

This insight is an important clue into my self understanding and my understanding of what moves me, especially in the last four years of my life as a digital nomad, Ethereum hackathon hacker and startup builder. Crypto since the beginning has been this amazing blend of disciplines, of sociology, economics, technology and culture. To understand the meaning of this is very important, that we as individuals are largely defined by our surroundings, our economic status, our culture and the collective intelligence. Bitcoin and Ethereum, is a new innovation that allows for a more rapid evolution of our identity as we are digitizing the medium of exchange, of money and trust.

This is the way. There is a video clip of Vitalik speaking sometime 2014, in some short news report, a few seconds, he was asked why Bitcoin and he said something to the effect ‘because this is the way it’s going to go.’ In this statement he conveyed this sense that he is just observing how history and technology is developing, it is not a matter of if this is going to work or not, or if this is the best way, but that this is a necessity, as surely as the river flows to the sea. There is no other way for humanity and technology to evolve. There was this feeling of certainty in his voice and manner. Vitalik is an example of a person that sees deeply into the nature of reality, the metaphysics, like a Buddha, or Neo from “The Matrix,” or a poet philosopher king of ancient times, he sees the true nature of value, of the individual as one node in the collective, tracking the significance of the invention of Bitcoin, coming from the experience of playing World of Warcraft, a massive multiplayer online game, and seeing how this is the way forward for evolution of human societies and humanity.

There is this constant tension in the individual, between turning inwards to the heart-mind or towards their reasoning brain and the collective standards of measurement. We can find direction and infinite wisdom inside our heart mind, but to the outside world, it often appears foolish, childish, stupid. This is the ‘Artists Way’, to be able to value their inner intuition, to take steps to nourish it, and trust in it. Having self belief is the ability to balance between the brain and the heart. The heart often can be too critical of our creativity and intuition that is sourced from the heart. At the same time the heart can be too unrealistic and too whimsical. Self belief means being able to believe in the intuition of the heart, balanced and tempered by the powerful tools of the critical and analytical brain.

On Creating the Future

Another deep insight came to me yesterday as I went on a hike with a friend outside of the town. The Alan Kay quote “don’t try to predict the future, create it” is displayed on the wall of the co-working space I go to daily at this pop up city. It occurred to me today how true this is, in practice, that we can make the future of our visions real, to create it, not trying to predict what project, what idea is going to work, but turn inwards into our “heart mind” and find what kind of future do we want, what values do we have, what do we want to dedicate ourselves to? This brings to mind the story of how Steve Jobs came to Xerox park, saw the future of personal computing as networked computers with graphical user interfaces, and he made it happen because he had this strong drive to create that future, while other people did not care enough, or were not feeling motivated enough to create it, to make it happen.

I launched the platform Augmi.lol on Friday, it is a place where you can create your own AI digital self, that others can chat with and where you can chat with other AI’s. This is the first micro MVP of this app, and by next Sunday I hope to launch the simulated society feature, where you can allow the AI beings to walk around and interact with others. This is the very exciting thing I want to demo in front of the Edge City audience. I have a hunch that the world of simulation of societies in games is the way forward for entertainment, education and work. To me I see this as an effort to create the future I believe will push humanity forward.

AI Film Maker Club

On Saturday Morning I hosted my own event, this was inspired by the format of the writing club of the SF Commons. It has the format of meeting in small groups of 2-4, chatting for an intro, then working on your individual AI video project for 90 minutes, and at the end sharing what you did. I love this format because it allows you to exchange ideas, meet other creators and balance that with a focused individual work time.

I created the first draft of an AI film that shows the use of Augmi.lol. I used the Edge city Midjourney style, and created a 90 second short sci-fi film. To me it was a big aha moment, I saw that one can create anything that can be imagined, and if you can create a short sci-fi film with yourself as the main character, with any kind of anime or realistic style, anyone can do this in a few hours, this is really world shaking realization.

The short film is very beautiful, it has sound effects, music, and custom voices. Watch it here if you are so called. It tells a story of what I imagine the future to be with the app augmi.lol that allows creators to connect with their audience better using AI, and to have personalized guidance by their digital self. This is the vision of what an ‘exo-cortex’ would look like, where human beings can merge with the digital space and become ‘infomorphs’ - digital beings with a human body in the root world.

On Tuesday and Thursday I hosted run club at 7am, it’s a great way to start the day and meet a variety of people.

Mental Fitness Exercises

This week a highlight was attending these personal growth sessions organized by a motivational speaker Xavier. I appreciated learning a new small exercise to check in with yourself, to get out of the tangle of your inner thoughts, your inner dialog, and check in with your senses, the present. The basis of this is that we only can process 10 thousand bits per second, versus what our brain takes in as 1 million bits per second, basically that we only take in 1% of the data, we filter out only the things that fit in with what our brain tells us is salient, or important, this is what our mental models are, what our self identity is and what we think about most of the time. The second session we covered on how often individuals develop some mental models and patterns of behavior in their early childhood that are no longer effective or relevant in their adulthood, but stay there as they are deeply ingrained. The way to get out of these patterns is to become aware of them, check in with yourself to get back into the present and practice things like meditation and breath work in order to be able to relax.

Agartha Residency Halloween Party

On Friday, this residency that is filled with amazing people hosted a daytime event. I enjoyed the DJ Workshop by Nico, fortune telling with crypto oracle cards by Jeremy, music coherence experiment by Nico from Alter Mundi - a local Argentinian programming, innovative mystical group, laughter exercise, rope tying up show by Tessa.

Most of all I loved drawing on the big table, a collective work of art was created by the participants. My little corner, which I so carefully and lovingly drew, conveyed my ethos of the hacker monk, and blended elements of spirituality and technology.

Oz City Welcoming Asado Party

On Thursday there was the opening of the Oz residency, a hacker house around pushing the edge of AI and web3 organized by Olly, a startup founder veteran and passionate builder of Network States.

Muay Thai Session at Edge

On Friday at 9 am, five of us got together in a gym to practice Muay Thai. This was a good moment to connect and keep up with our skills. There is so much value in this mix and exchange of people from various backgrounds, from local Argantinian’s, American and European backgrounds, we can cross pollinate ideas and perspectives on various things, like Muay Thai practice as well as other things.

Sunday Demo Day and Community Dinner

I was amazed at all the demo day presentations, and the town hall updates. Leads from several of the residencies came up and shared about their residency, we watched videos by the video creators, these were amazing and moved the audience. Afterwards we got into a shuttle or other commuting vehicles and made it to the dinner which was ten minutes away outside of town. I mingled and got to connect with a variety of people, for example the Citizenship Onchain residency folks, that were exploring building a network state in local land, a South African Ethereum community organizer, the founder of Devconnect, and got to build my own bracelet and build relationships with people I had met earlier.

Conclusion

This second week was very special, every day is magical here, I only covered about 50% of all the magic (the ecstatic dance on Saturday was the best). I am closing this blog with thoughts and hopes of being able to complete the Augmi.lol society simulator and demo it to this community. I dream of creating a week long experiment in this community, in which we create 20 AI characters, and watch as they interact in a simulated world of San Martin de los Andes over a period of week. Then we interview the real people, about what their experience was like watching their AI digital self walking around, interacting, planning, having conversations with other people in the simulation, and how it impacted their real world interactions. I believe that this approach is just scratching the surface of what we can do with this technology, for entertainment, personal growth, education and for making money online. Imagine creating societies with AI entities and digital selves, that create their own on chain economies, DAO’s and create art together, that create AI images, videos and music. This vision excites me, sends chills down my spine, that is the good sign you need to look out for if an idea is worth pursing. This idea has the right mix of being realistically implementable, and at the same time it is ground breaking, as not many projects have been launched since the ground breaking paper on “Generative Agents: Interactive Simulacra of Human Behavior” from Stanford. This paper just is a first idea of what is possible, but the field is wide open for exploration and for new startups to form in this space.

This is a series of weekly posts, that are personal, that summarize highlights of my week in my world of a digital nomad developer in crypto and AI, as well as essayistic tangents on various topics. I write this with the tone and intention as if it is to my Mom, or to my future self, who is curious about what I’m up to and what I’m thinking.

First Week at Edge

Time is moving fast here, as you’re having so much fun, meeting so many interesting people, discovering new fascinating topics you want to rabbit down, getting new ideas, being pushed out of your comfort zone. The first week feels like a roller coaster ride, by two thirds into the week you’re at the peak and feeling exhaustion set in and want to spend a few hours staring at the wall, this was the case with me.

Some highlights worth remembering:

Morning Run Club: on Tuesday and Thursday, hosted by me. We ran for 45 minutes. Afterwards I joined the Meditation Artifacts Residency for a cold plunge in the lake.

Morning Gnosis Sessions: Hosted by the coaches Paul Kuhn and Dr. Erica Matluck. This is a session involving yoga, breathwork and elements of scream therapy and sound healing. The room is usually full with more then 40 people. The experience here was very demanding, and many people had deep response to it. Even after many experiences with practicing breathwork and similar, this felt really good, I found myself much lighter afterwards, having more clearer channel with my intuition.

Lemon.me mini app workshop: San Martin de los Andes is the place where Lemon app originated. This is the most popular crypto app in latin America with 5 million users.

Ice plunge in the lake: On Tuesday and Thursday I plunged into the lake with the Meditation Artifacts Residency.

Gym Sessions: Nearly every day I went to the gym and did my typical routine, sometimes with other Edge City participants.

Soccer Tournament: Great opportunity to connect with others, everyone was very competitive. My team ended up not winning but I contributed by blocking every single goal on defense for one game. It was cool to see all these different crypto people competing in this physical sport. There was a wide verity of people. I connected with one designer that had similar story as mine, nomadic crypto user, and he ‘red pilled’ me on using Farcaster, a twitter like platform I signed up early for but haven’t been active on. I vowed to post more on there, connecting with the crypto community there. I got to chat with a few other people, it was a great opportunity to not be laser focused on your own work and forge bond that can be very useful in the future.

Discovering Cyber Valley: I met the founder of cyber valley, a network state in Bali and a person with a very interesting background. We actually met at Devcon in Bogota three years ago, and now we had an opportune moment to share a meal and discuss things. Then they presented on their work with creating a network state in Bali called cyber valley. Their history in activity in crypto stretches back to the early days of Bitcoin, having met Vitalik before Ethereum was launched, and managing cyber fund, a crypto investment fund that was an early investor in nearly all the current major crypto projects. The eye opening take away, one that I had known since the start, but it is difficult to get the courage to accept (because of all the unknowns that come with it) is that investing in nearly any good crypto project early, will bear major fruit in a few years time. This is inspiring and I can see myself participating in the Cyber Valley in the near future. They are opening it up to outside contributors in February 2026, and that is something I can see myself taking part in. Exciting!

Murmur Co-working experiment: Nearly every day around 2-4PM at the coworking space, I joined the experiment, where we did a pomodoro session, shared what our goals were at the start, and checked in at the end of the quiet work session. This was good to connect with others and learn what they are working on while also having the space and motivation to work on my own work. Being around other people that are focused kicks off your own motivation and super chargers your ability to concentrate.

Saturday Hike with Agartha: Advertised as a ‘two hour hike’ this was what I needed on a Saturday morning, to get into nature and a break from my coding marathon over the last day. It was an opportunity to connect with new people. I chatted with a match making professional, an old friend from Launch House that was building a crypto infrastructure protocol over the past three years and hearing about her progress was inspiring and was so good to reconnect with someone that I had experienced more then one hacker house and hackathon before in crypto (shout out to Doris!). Seeing the nature and connecting with new people on the topic of crypto, network states, psychedelics and personal growth was nourishing. This is such a special time, it fills the heart and soul with all the things you need, the connections, the kindred spirits on similar journeys, searching for the call of the intuition, that will lead us to survival in the long term. Actually, this may seem doomer, but in the long term, on the long view of history, we live in a brief period of peace and prosperity, in the long stretch of continuous catastrophic cycles. Few are awake to this truth and feel the call of their anxiety to bring them out to places like this in Edge city, the pop up city that is searching to innovate with new technology and new ideas, to survive with our values and freedoms intact, in the current shifting global geo political order. I chatted with the co-founder of Agartha house, a project that hits on all the things I have been interested in over the past three years. I suddenly described why I feel interested in things like blockchain and network states, and I commented that just two days before the prime minister of Singapore publicly was talking about how we are in a transitional phase in the world order, away from the leadership and dominance of the USA and in a state where there is another competing systems, that of the CCP of course, which has cultivated a powerful society that values scientific research, production, growth, which has seen the centralized state bear fruit in a dominance of production of technology, while subjugating the individual freedoms to the plan of the state. On the other hand the system of the USA has given fruit to decentralization technologies like the internet, cryptocurrency and AI, which present an opportunity to develop new worlds, but they do require individuals to dream them up and build them.

Dance Class: On Friday I joined the dance class. I was feeling happy and confident. Since a few years ago, I started to feel an expression of freedom in dance and self expression. Up until then I could only dance in my room to really exceptional music like Odesza. Now I find I can tap into a part of me that is real, feeling, the honest heart of a living being, with all of its grief, wounds, hopes and longings. I could tap into this, move my body, hum a little, talk a little, and establish some self-regulation, some playfulness, some sense making, inside the free interpretive non-language expression of dance. We watched a video of a early 1940’s African American style dance that was called the Charleston and the Lindy Hop. In my mind, I saw echos of “The Wedding” by a poet in early 1900 Poland called Stanislaw Wyspianski, that described a wedding between a city native groom and a village bride, how the interplay between someone that is connected to the ‘old world’ roots of the Earth, with a person that is ‘Cosmopolitan city dweller’ how one can be free in the body, how the other is more in the mind. The intersection of the two, which I believe I exhibit sometimes, when being free and expressing my self through dance, is the most powerful faculty you can have. This is the balance between the civilized and the native, also talked about in ‘The Epic of Gilgamesh’. I danced with a few ladies, and we laughed, some I felt very nervous, others I was able to manage it and be present and tap into a cosmic sense, performing like a signal receiver from a deeper reality. Performing in the range of roles between the confident man and in the timid boy that strives to overcome his nervousness. This is how you make the best art, being connected with your true feelings, honoring the sacredness of your feelings, your anxiety and at the same time, being able to step back, let it dissolve and be open to what else is out there that you have inside you, and out there that you can channel. It doesn’t matter if that’s dance, video content, or creating apps, it’s the same artistic process. It’s when you let yourself relax, and let the Universe move through you. This is what Steve Jobs talked about when he said: “The biggest value generation in the twentieth century will be at the intersection of technology and the liberal arts.” The thing is that when you have an observer, this changes the state of the vibe and it can make it that your receptiveness to the signals are disrupted. This is the quantum nature of our world.

First Opening Sunday Dinner: On the first Sunday after the kick off. The intro, residency presentations and hang out, and the dinner after was really eye opening. I didn’t have a lot of prior knowledge coming into Edge City, I didn’t imagine what the culture here is like, now I can say it’s about bringing people together that really care about innovating a better world, in various areas, not just building technology, also in other scientific pursuits and at the cultural level. People here care about putting in the work and effort to build a better society. We are in an evolving world, and the future depends on the decisions and the work we do today, it doesn’t happen on it’s own, the question every one of us has to answer is, who am I and what am I here for? There is no one answer, everyone has to find out for themselves. With authenticity we find out what it is that we really want, who we are and how we want to be in this life.

At the opening dinner we got a very warm welcome from the mayor of San Martin de los Andes. It was incredible, I could feel that here the people, in this frontier town, really got that we as humans depend on survival for the tools we use and that the tools are always changing, that we have to keep innovating, and at the same time not lose our humanity, but integrating with our roots, with all parts of ourselves, and all sentient beings, because we all are part of the greater whole, and our individual survival depends on the well being and survival of the whole system. The whole Earth. We have to be in touch with all parts of ourselves, the emotional heart, and the analytics mind.

Building Augmi Your Digital Self: On the first Sunday, there were presentations of all the individual experiments that were happening. This fired up my imagination about what I could build here in this month, to contribute to the furthering the ‘edge’ of innovation. Over the past 2-3 years I have been experimenting and iterating on AI startups that I feel would be the best to build in this special time. I realized that the ‘AI twin’ concept was really powerful and here would allow us to connect with more people and explore more connections by augmenting ourselves with an AI version of yourself. One year ago while living in SF, a friend of mine created an experiment called ‘AI Simulated Party. Participants would sign up, answer a few questions to create a digital version of themselves, they would be put into a 2D ‘AI Town’ like world and watch themselves interact with other participants over the span of one week, at the end they would all meet an in person event and get the top 3 people to meet and 3 to avoid. I thought this was amazing, this is the future, it was a really cool experience. So I want to bring it to Edge, imagine if the pop up city had a digital version, and you could interact with an order of magnitude more people then ordinarily. I built a prototype and demo’ed it on the second Sunday. The feedback was positive and I am going to build it fully during my time here, envisioning this becoming the standard way that individuals interact with the digital world. This is my humble contribution to the pop up city world. I sincerely hope it will be useful, fun and helpful to people. With every day I put in work on this project, I set my intention to push humanity further with this AI augmentation tool, fittingly called Augmi.

Conclusion

The first was intense, it was eye opening, I learned what the culture of Edge city was like, and it’s way better then I could have imagined. I resonate strongly with the values of using both your heart and mind, in an effort to build a better world, and in truth, to increase our chances of survival, because yes right now in our live times, most of us in this group have had very privileged lives, but we live in a small island in the history of cycles of cataclysms, and it makes absolutely no sense to believe that somehow it’s different this time. The thing that’s different now is the exponential explosion of technology, it is changing our world, but it depends on us to make it happen, to create it in accordance with the values we have and with the vision for the life we want to have. The future is uncertain, but by putting in our effort into self discovery, to getting better at knowing how to make good decisions for ourselves, decisions informed by our intuition, the heart and the mind working together, we can guide ourselves in the good life, an authentic life, feeling the freedom of the dance, feeling connected with ourselves, and the world outside. At the end, I wish to be able to say, I came to this world, I discovered what is inside me, what is out there, and I lived an authentic way, in a way that is significant for me, with self compassion and compassion for others.

Sunday Morning Reflections

I was back in my home, in Zion, sitting on the same spot on the floor, looking out the big window, at the trees, the same reference points, the magic settled around me. I was in my place on Earth. It was magical. It was a Sunday, it’s the one day of the week that always has been sacred, the time to put away work, and connect with the larger picture, to ask yourself, what are you working towards? Do you like where you’re going? Are you missing something? Are you actually living your life or someone else’s? Are you using your precious time on this Earth to do the things you want to do and be the person you want to be?

This Sunday I was wondering about this. I felt that in some ways some obstacles I still have to overcome fully, about living fully, really truly being free, free from fear, from trauma response that still can make you paralyzed in a way. Trauma is locked in the body, we as mammals have this response, when we feel we are stuck, helpless, like an antelope being pinned down by a lion, knowing it can’t escape, only waiting to be devoured, it freezes, it goes limp, it’s only chance of survival is if that lion decides to change it’s mind, to have mercy and go away. This situation can happen to modern humans, if a child, a being that is powerless and dependent on their caretaker, is abused physically or emotionally by them, then they can get stuck in this frozen state in their nervous system. They will not get out of it unless they are able to perform the very difficult task of diagnosing what is wrong with them. They will not get free unless they are able to self educate on this, or lucky to have some guide, to find the will and strength to figure it out.

Unblocking Traumas

This echos themes inside novels, like detective novels, (I’m thinking Dashielle Hammet, or the Animatrix ‘Detective Story’) which hook people in, with this kind of mystery, that often people find resonance with their own life, searching for what blind spots, traumas and blockages they have, and how they may free themselves from them. This is what Steve Jobs was pursuing, feeling deeply impacted about the reasons why his birth parents decided to give him up. What were their emotional feelings and reasoning? What is the story behind his origin, before he could remember and have his own power? He was able to free himself from this trauma through primal scream therapy, studying Eastern philosophy and various other kinds of therapies that is described in the Walter Isaacson biography. He was able to unlock the inner power in himself, and he learned that he could help others unlock it in themselves too. The biography talks about how he helped his then girlfriend get away from a harmful cult like co-living community, and believed in her so hard that she could drive a stick shift car herself, that he put his head on her lap as she sped down a highway, putting his life in her hands, with the confidence that inspired her to bring out the inner strength and confidence in herself to handle this new task of driving a stick shift. Then he took this ability to break people out of their limiting beliefs into his roles at Apple and Next, to inspire people to do their best work, to think different, to bend reality, to make the impossible happen. To me, that is the definition of an Enlightened being living in our modern times.

Vasocomputation

There is a scientist that is working on a new field he called “vasocomputation,” that studies how vascular (blood veins) tension acts as a type of memory, that regulates neural dynamic range, meaning in effect, how you think, feel and perceive the world. In his talk linked here he talks about how this explains ‘thoughts’ as patterns of vascular tension, and implications for Buddhist enlightenment. I found his work since he is participating at the Edge City Patagonia - Consciousness Residency that I am taking part in this month. I predict that this new perspective explains things like the trauma described above and how things like somatic shaking therapy, ecstatic dance and scream therapy can help ‘unlatch’ these blockages in blood flow. I imagine having VR applications that allow people to experience traumatic situation in a new whole body physical interaction with the digital space, such that their limiting fear - flight - freeze based response patterns are changed through awareness and guidance in physical movement.

“The Lord will take me in”

On this Sunday, at eleven I got up and decided I needed to go to a random church, the closest one. Since I didn’t have a car, I dressed in running clothes, and went out to run, and found a church. The mass had ended, the schedule I saw on Google Maps was outdated. Yet I stood there in front of the church, chatted briefly with people exiting, then I quietly went in, feeling called to be in this space that is dedicated to the sacred, to whatever is beyond our human comprehension, our human world.

I got inside and just sat, and said a prayer, believing that the universe is a place that is designed to help you succeed, in itself, is a powerful way to help yourself succeed. I felt I was called there, by something, and that I needed to be thinking of myself as a free individual, with a clear line, as if a direct phone line, to my own intuition, the voice in my heart that tells me what is the best thing for me to do, how to have my own way to judge myself, my actions, my own worth. Think of it as a God, or think of it as the child within, or think of it as intuition, or authenticity. It’s a voice that tells you, are you good, are you doing too much of something, or not enough of something, are you working on what you need to be working, are you living the life you are meant to live, are you fully using your talents and potential, are you actually living your life, or someone else’s life?

One of the members of the church community came up to me, sat next to me and asked if he could pray with me, we did, and then we chatted briefly, getting across what was on my mind without self-censorship, and with a few tears. Then he told me a quote from the bible, that he understands, and he said “Though my father and my mother forsake me, the Lord will take me in” from Psalm 27:10. This was spot on, they were all getting ready to leave and close up, I walked out, exchanged some niceties with the people there, they shared their views, knowing time was short, they invited me to come back again and join the mass. I walked out and then continued my run and did some errands, picking up a few things from Walmart, tackling my long todo list. This was like a cathartic moment, though I tried to not make it obvious.

Take off and go

This statement, take off and go, captures the feeling I had going again on the plane, leaving Illinois, the people here, for Argentina, the next month I will spend in the mountain town of San Martin de los Andes in Patagonia, Argentina, for Edge City - a pop up city in the Ethereum community. I took four flights, Chicago to Miami, to Bogota, to Buenos Aires, to finally San Martin de los Andes. I love the feeling, you remember again that the world is so big, we each are little programs living in this vast network of little communities, each programmed to operate inside our own confines, and feeling culture shock the moment we realize there’s billions of people out there having their own experience, something that our individual minds can’t grasp easily. I landed in this small town, where people that are some of the smartest in the world, that aspire to use and create technology to push humanity forward, I would spend the next few days frequently saying “hi, nice to meet you and “hey where did I meet you before? was it in Bogota? Denver? Vietnam?” Excited just to be able to travel the world and meet interesting people, on top of that, here we are gathered to pursue similar interests like consciousness, human and AI symbiosis, meditation, physical fitness, and self discovery. There are about a dozen different types of ‘residencies’ here which are organizations around a central theme, with participants and facilitators putting on a calendar of events, sharing spaces and doing activities together, from sauna, to hiking, running, flow rope, and people doing scientific experiments on gut biome, psychedelics and more.

Reflections on What to Focus on

On my flight to Miami I watched a documentary on Carl Craig, a Detroit based techno DJ that was active in the late 90’s and 2000’s. His story of a musician, growing up influenced by music tastes from his parents, siblings, and surroundings, growing up in America, an environment that I can relate to, and then growing up to be a prolific and impactful artist in his genera to me was inspiring. I could see that if you enjoy some thing, some creative pursuit, and you apply yourself to it, you make your life be about it, you make it your way of life, your channel of self expression, then you are bound to create something that is appreciated, that is valued, that impacts others in a positive way. Here is a clear example of a being growing up to do just that. It is something you created, that expresses your perspective of the world in this window of time. It doesn’t matter if your art is photography, painting, creating computers, or creating applications, if you just focus and apply yourself, you will create something beautiful and valuable to the world. This is the life I aspire to live, this is the life that to me is full and an example of what Steve Jobs meant when he said ‘make a dent in the universe.’

Have a dream and believe in yourself

This morning I woke up and dived straight into work on my ‘AI power user platform’ luminalog.com. It still needs a lot of improvements, I have a lot of challenges to overcome to make it good, but over the last month or so I have come to the conclusion that I need to have this clear focus on building an AI app that gives us superpowers. This take the form of an AI second brain, like an obsidian (a note taking tool) with AI. The form of it can evolve and change over time, but this goal is the north star, we have all the pieces to make it happen, I need it myself to overcome my own challenges on my journey to self actualization. As the education system is becoming obsolete, in the same way as the horse became obsolete after the invention of the car, we need this application, an AI power user platform, to take the place of the educational institutions. The intersection of VR (for vasocomputational unblocking of traumas), with AI (the personal mentor and second brain) and Ethereum (the facilitation of certificates, rewards and qualifications) is the place where we can create the future. We don’t have a choice, do we want to or not to create the future, we are on a moving train, technology is a process that is constantly changing, we are called to use your faculty of ingenuity as we have since the origin of our species, to create the tools that in turn create us.

Conclusion

This week has been about keeping the home base alive and well, taking care of the spirit connection, taking off to a new continent and dialing to focused work on the big picture goal.

Intro

This newsletter is a collection of personal travel reflections, notes on technology, startups and philosophy. It is a kind of public journal, a log of my journey through ideas and places.

This week I flew from Singapore to Chicago, my home base, do some work on my rental property and get ready for another trip to Argentina. It’s been already four years since I took off from this place on the nomad life journey. Strange to reflect on how I had changed. At that time I was thinking I would do the Pilgrimage to Santiago de Campostella in Spain and do an Ethereum Hackathon, but after the hackathon I realized I needed to keep building in Ethereum and traveling.

Transhumanist Readings

What I read on the plane were parts of the Transhumanist history book and Steve Jobs biography. The most compelling ideas found in the first is the chapter on decades of research and proposals on how computers can augment human intelligence and make us super human. This is the topic that to me is the most core to my life purpose as you maybe you have read in a previous entry Issue 38. In this book the most fascinating concepts that lit me up inside were as follows:

The Infomorph

This is an idea from a Transhumanist and computer scientist Alexander Chislenko, he wrote about in a 1996 article, Networking in the Mind Age. It proposes that our identity and mental faculties will blend with a decentralized set of data and functionalities that are tightly integrated with our minds. This proposes that our identity can be liberated from just our material minds, shifting to a digital presence. I imagine this can be implemented with current technology, using knowledge bases on our lives, a “quantified self” databases, similar to personal Notion instances, with AI that is aware of this context and tightly symbiotic with our own minds; in the moment thoughts, goals and emotions. Providing in the moment coaching, advice, relevant data fetching from the internet. This is the direction I going in with my web app LuminaLog.com.

Other Minds

A similar idea to the Infomorph is the concept of how our minds can be fluid. Proposed by the philosopher Aaron Sloman and further developed by Roman V. Yampolskiy, they emphasized the boundlessness of possible mind designs and structures. A mind is defined by the knowledge it contains, it can be expanded, merged and even nested inside other minds. Another aspect of what a mind is, is the goal, a mind can be defined by it’s long term goal, short term goals or not having one, or changed by the will.

The Singularity

This is a concept of a point past which intelligence will expand exponentially and past which our minds can’t imagine. It is explored by Vernor Vinge, a former mathematics professor at San Diego State University, computer scientist and one of the icons of the Transhumanist movement. In 1983 he published an essay in the journal Omni about how we will soon create intelligences greater then our own, creating a process that will cause the Singularity, forming a world we can’t comprehend with our present limited minds. Kurzweil, one of the most well know thinkers on this topic, is known for his spot on predictions, claims we will have immortality by 2032 (recently in a public statement that is not in this book), and believes machines will develop a spiritual faculty, sensing a deeper reality, therefore no longer definable as machines in the sense of the word we are familiar with.

Reality as Fundamentally Computational

This is a perspective on the deeper foundational reality developed by mathematicians and information theorists; Konrad Zuse, Edward Fredkin and Stephen Wolfram. The view the world, that is all time, space, the universe, are nothing but information and the result of the process of calculation. That the universe is the result of some giant super computer. This view proposes that in some post human future, we will be able to ‘hack the universe’ meaning alter the ‘source code’ of creation, and compute another baby universe. Essentially becoming Gods.

Readings on Steve Jobs Biography

The second book I resisted on this flight was this excellent biography by Walter Isaacson, published in 2011. Steve Jobs is often misunderstood, his story is complex and often over simplified. As I browsed through the parts of the book on his time in Reed College to the formation of Apple, I caught a few fragments that I did not catch before. This was about how he overcame his troubling feelings surrounding being abandoned by his birth parents.

By his friends this was described as something that he said it was ‘bothering him’ and that he ‘needed to get a hold of’. Things like the primal scream therapy, the fruit diet, zen meditation, LSD, were ways for him to get a grip on these feelings. His friends described how his confidence improved, his feelings of inadequacy lessened, and that he learned to impart that feeling of confidence in others and push them to do things they didn’t think were possible. During his time in Reed College he met a confident, outgoing, guru like, LSD taking hippie, Robert Friedman that ran the apple farm. From him he learned about ‘selling, coming out of his shell, opening up and taking charge of the situation’. This was his training arc, he saw in others qualities that he lacked, got to know them, could see they had good and bad sides, and learned from them what helped him become better, later tactics he used to achieve his goals, (though not without some mistakes). This is a real hero journey arc, a human being that used his time, his intelligence to go out into the world, and turn his potential into actuality. This is what being human is all about, this is the path of the spiritual seeker of our current modern times. In our current times the great artists and spiritual leaders are those working on the intersection of art and technology. He was not born with the skills and attributes he needed to make this enormously consequential positive impact on the world that he had, he went out into the world, searched, found and acquired the skills, characteristics and knowledge he lacked.

Back in Zion

On Wednesday October 8th, I landed back in Chicago. I visited my favorite cafe in Jefferson Park and continued with some work there. On Saturday I was able to return to my rental property in Zion Illinois to spend a few days here, doing required maintenance and enjoying the beautiful space to live and work. I am departing for Patagonia, Argentina in a few days to join an ‘Edge City’ pop up city around topics of crypto, technology and culture.

During the week I happened to be lucky to visit the downtown area of Chicago. I walked through the Michigan Avenue, by Millenium Park, The Art Institute, and the Harold Washington Library. These areas are near and dear to my heart, the architecture here gives you a monumental feeling, sensing the decades and centuries of souls that passed these streets, and the designs of the buildings here inspiring all with their beauty and harmony. Again after coming from Asia, seeing the budding cities there, raw and early on in their development journey, feeling this contrast, time and time again after going back and forth over the past ten years, you can’t help but wonder, what kind of force can inspire a new cycle of growth in this once innovative city.

You again get a sense of how individuals are limited by their local surroundings, conditioning by the people, information, patterns of their localities, and keenly sensing how travel free’s you from this conditioning. It opens you to the global perspective. I would not trade it for anything in the world. Yes you can feel a lot of anxiety being a nomad, not having certainty if you are really building a solid future, but as humanity evolves, the best bet for your future is being decentralized, being fluid across borders, building connections, seeing the larger patterns in the world, taking the best, the most effective, from wherever it is found.

Post Hackathon Strategies

The team from the Token2049 hackathon agreed we had a good time and we were effective. Currently we’re exploring how we can work together to pursue our project further stages. I proposed using the opportunity of one of the members being at the Network School, to build an AI twin agent that will solve the ‘Dunbar’s Number’ problem, meaning that we only have bandwidth to effectively know about 150 people at one time. With an AI twin that can realistically simulate our way’s of thinking, speaking and be aware of our knowledge and goals, could it then effectively manage discovery, communicate and manage relationships with other peoples AI twins, amplifying our connections and development of relationships? In my experience in this technology, I am convinced it is good enough now and that implementing this will make a big impact on the world. Currently we aim to make this goal a reality.

Conclusion

Ending this week’s newsletter on this thought that like Steve Jobs, go out there in the world, into various areas of human knowledge, spiritual practices, tradition and technology, and find out what your soul and mind need to find out to get yourself free, to get the attributes, attitudes, skills and beliefs you need in order to actualize your inherent potential. To make your dent in the Universe. ✌️

I’m writing this from the pool deck area on the 31st floor of a tower in the Forest City special economic zone in Malaysia. It is located on an artificial island that was built ten years ago. It has the ambition to be the site of a future city, I can see that happening, it is well on that trajectory. The Network School opened here one year ago. It is created by Balaji Srinivasan, an American entrepreneur, investor, billionaire and prominent voice in cryptography and technology. The vision is that crypto will take the next step to become communities and network states. I see this as a natural next step in evolution of humanity. Things like communities, religions, governments are technology, this is how humanity evolves. We can’t survive without all of the infrastructure and services that our communities provide. As we move to the next stage of our civilizational evolution, we are innovating on this. The constitution of the USA was a technological break through. No longer was it that only the King owned the land, and all those living on it were his subjects. The sailors and explorers that discovered new lands, made the investors very rich and formed giant global corporations. They drove a large increase in the pace of innovation, of discovery of new scientific theories, new tools and inventions, that allowed them to further their quest in exploration and making businesses that connected far off lands. Buckminster Fuller talks a lot about this in his book Operating Manual for Spaceship Earth.

I flew to Singapore on Tuesday morning from Phuket. The last day I spent in a cafe writing, coding, then I did Muay Thai training. At the airport I was filled with a deep grief, maybe inspired by all the all the hopes and dreams I had, a deep sense of communion with my core memories, a longing for turning my potential to actuality making a positive contribution to the world. People around me at the gate, seemed to sense this I guess, as I was in a meditation pose, with my eye’s covered with a sleep mask, a hoodie, and trying to hide the fact that I was crying and had to wipe my nose every few minutes. I didn’t feel shame or embarrassment. I just wanted to not be noticed and not to be disturbed or disturb others. I was glad to touch this deep part of me, it was good because I was feeling the real me, my emotional core, that is a gift, to be in touch with yourself, and not too numb, too old to feel powerful emotions of longing, desire, determination, love, hopes, dreams, drive. This is a gift. It is fuel to go after your dreams. Whatever sparked it, is a clue to my heart’s deepest longings, that should be studied closely and listened to, as this is my internal navigation compass, my own map to where I need to go on my journey in life, physically, spiritually and intellectually. I remember how much reading the book Hull House, triggered a similar response.

I landed in Singapore and it was hot. I got a delicious meal, checked into my hostel and went to the Hackathon venue at the Marina Bay Sands. I met my team, everyone was already there, we watched the workshops and opening remarks. The next day the Token2049 convention was starting. This was my first time attending it, it is more general crypto conference, not only focused on Ethereum.

On Day 2 we kept hammering out our plan and vision for our project we called Tokennect. We started with this vision of an AI twin that helps you 100x your networking at such conferences as this one by finding, chatting and providing a summary of your interactions with other relevant people. We took time to figure out the web3 components. Through a lot of debates and discussions that were constructive, we figured out the best plan was to build a token launch platform that had a built in business development AI and on the other side of the market, an AI that searched and auto invested in new tokens based on your investment strategy. This was a very specific application of the vast number of useful things that AI agents can now do with our current technology. I used spec-kit, cline, cursor and roo code as my AI coding tools of choice. I worked on the smart contracts on the TON network with FunC language. In between building we got some time to take a few breaks and explore the conference. I took an ice plunge, explored the booths and had lunch chatting with other participants. I had very limited time for this as every fiber of my body was focused on the hackathon project. We were all very motivated to give it our all.

On Day 3

Our deadline was at 9am. I got to the venue an hour before, having slept maybe 4 hours only. Yet many did not sleep at all. We submitted on time and were feeling good about our project. Then we were free to explore the conference. We gathered to give a demo to the sponsor, AlphaTon, who helps the TON ecosystem launch projects and is the largest holder of TON tokens. I handled the demo since they wanted only the technical demo of the app working and explanation, without any presentation slides. It turned out very well.

Out on the conference floor I went and did some of the ‘side quest’ activities that gave you points that then you could redeem for merch. It was a fun way to engage with different people. I climbed the rock wall, did 28 and 15 pull ups that got me to the top 10 out of 150 people. Then I got some lion’s mane tea, coconut and delicious Asian food. I talked to projects that were building AI influencer on chain. A project that aimed to discover truth called ArAIstotle. The Nifty Gateway company that was creating interactive NFT experiences. I walked into some panels like the Steady Lads podcast panel, talking about current trends in the market. I wondered why they didn’t mention any AI agent meme coin topics. They were excited about farming air drops, perpetuals, hyperliquid and market cycles.

We didn’t make the cut for the top 5 finalist teams. I watched their presentations with great interest, then the sponsor prizes were announced and we were happy to get the first place from AI on TON track. We got up on stage and snapped the photos, the team was a talented great group, we complimented each other well. At night I went out for the first time, Blondish, a DJ that was in my Spotify playlists was playing a crypto party at Marquee night club. It was a blast, I danced, felt light and free.

Day 4 was Friday, the Network School Conference was happening at the same venue, on the fifth floor. I arrived early in the day. I watched the live stream on YouTube, as I completed some work. I applied for the Edge City Patagonia pop up city that was happening during Devcon in Argentina next month. I also planned my next step of the journey. I met a really interesting guy from SF during lunch. He’s building a kind of city in a box, where people can have housing with all necessities to create a new kind of community. We had a lot to chat about and exchange ideas about this. After lunch I dove into the conference, sitting in the back absorbing every second of it.

I was amazed at the high quality of the speakers ideas and presentations on various topics around crypto network states. Especially those from Vitalik about how crypto communities have been evolving over the past years. Amjad from Replit on the future of coding, that the best use of computers is to be writing code and now everyone could with just language, in the same trend as going from assembly to compilers to high level languages. ZCash founder talking about how Satoshi explained that only privacy preserving digital money like ZCash would allow for the human freedom. There were talks by Nas Daily about AI video is allowing for individuals to create their own history video film productions for very low cost. This particularly struck a chord with me and I visualized building a channel with daily short videos on the fascinating history of computers and blockchain. I went to the RaveDAO event, had a blast and ended up making it over the border to my new Airbnb in Johor Bahor by 5am feeling really great, but wishing I could sleep more. Not having internet, finding the cab driver and digging through my belongings to fish out a paper currency he would accept was an adventure.

On Saturday I took a 40 minute grab ride to the Network School in the Forest City special economic zone for their open day. It was great to hear from the director a presentation about every thing we should know about attending. I chatted with him, shared my story and purpose, and exchanged contact info regarding my application. There was a dinner with the existing members and later a live music concert. I got home at ten PM really needing to catch up on sleep.

Today, I moved to a new AirBnB near the Network School since my team mate is a resident and we will collaborate more on the hackathon project. I managed to inspire and motivate the hackathon team to keep the project going and to make it a real startup. We are meeting and discussing the plan. There is a lot of alignment and opportunity in this project, using TON network as the first platform to release personal AI twins that will accelerate how you network, collaborate, and perform actions on chain, through delegating your AI to do the work for you, and you just keep watch over your dashboard metrics, receive executive summaries and adjust when needed.

In conclusion, this is my best at condensing the last week into one article. I realize the importance and value of writing, it helps you think, to clarify your thinking and communicate. This is a mix of personal and professional topics, for this channel, this is alright because it is my story. I am writing this saying the things I would want to know and remember 20 years from today. Another way of putting it is I’m writing to my Mom, updating her about my travels. To live a life and leave nothing noteworthy behind you is a great waste, I do not want to be like that. I want to leave behind myself some insights, some lessons, some discoveries, that can be helpful to others and my future self. To write things that you care about, that you are obsessed with and that are bringing value to some real world ecosystem is the best thing you can do. This is what Vitalik did when he founded Bitcoin Magazine. I highly resonate with his story and his obsession with crypto, as I too see that this is the path forward for human evolution. To turn away from that, to go into another field, is a betrayal of who you are. It is not easy, it is not without dangers, it is a great responsibility to play your part to the best of your abilities in this life. We are given this chance, these talents, these resources in this life, and what we do with it, is our legacy. To go to the grave without giving it your all to turn your potential to actuality is the worst kind of cosmic suffering possible. We don’t live in times where every generation is born and dies in the same world, our world is rapidly changing, humanity is rapidly changing, our societies, tools, technology, and it all depends on us to create the world of our future. This is why it is so important to take this seriously, take your work seriously, have a clear goal and every day try to be 1% better. These writings are an important part of this effort.

I have been building AI startups since the summer of 2023. Around March 2024, I got the idea for LuminaLog.com, an AI journal. I worked on it for about three months, then I moved on to another project, joining as a co-founder, an app that made binaural beats and frequencies for focus.

Next I left this startup, realizing I needed to pursue my own path, that I had some intuition for but still wasn’t clear to me exactly what it would be. I built an AI app called Manifestly that uses AI to help people remember what they want to ‘manifest’ as I took a course on this topic and was very interested in the psychology of moods and mental states that some claim can help you attain any goal that you desire.

My realization is that indeed anything is possible, we have the hardware to be a multi billionaire, or make a valuable contribution in any field that we desire, but that what stood in the way was lacking the software, either the conviction, the practices, the perspectives, and so I saw manifesting as a potential tool to iterate on the software side. This app then expanded to be an all in one AI app with many AI tools. Then I presented this app to some audiences at ETHDenver, a big crypto conference in late February 2025. I got some feedback that was interesting, some good but also some really encouraging ones.

Then I went through a period from March 2025 until around now, where I wasn’t sure what I wanted to work on. I experimented with crypto apps, VR, prototyping AI Agentic marketplaces on crypto, and built a vibe coded AI image and video editing app, that ended up being a lot more complex and time intensive then I expected. From a week project it turned into nearly two months. Then I built and launched another app called Imagym that uses AI to help you visualize your desired goals. Both apps were very difficult to create, manage and grow. I realize that this is not what I want to work on. I realized that I need to have a clear mission and goal. I explored different ideas like building an app that builds crypto backend apps.

Last night I made an intention for the night, that I wanted to find out what the f—k I needed to be doing with my f—king life. A statement with strong emotion and determination.

Over the course of the night I found my answer. It was clear that what tripped me up, was trying too hard to fit in expected categories of what an AI SAAS app is supposed to be doing. I realized I just have to set a clear mission for myself, and that the how will reveal itself on the way. I realized my mission was to build an AI app that allows each individual to become super human. This means to understand themselves, to better self regulate, make decisions, get the information they need, practice the skills they need to develop.

We already have this magic ability of AI models in various modalities, text, image, video, audio. We just need to combine them together for this purpose of helping the individual learn, grow, earn and connect. The AI journal is a critical component as a first step. I realized I need to keep building LuminaLog.com, with the journal, and keep experimenting with new features that will serve this clear mission statement. This includes chat with PDF, using multi chat windows, using image and video generation with yourself as the main character in narratives, anime and scifi, performing deep research. Tracking everything about what you do, your time in 15 minute intervals, what you eat with macros and diet tracking. There are many more possibilities here. Perform research on what works best. Create the ability to search through all scientific research papers, write new academic papers and make new scientific discoveries. Experiment with different features, measure the results, and keep going. Go after this with a holy war kind of focus like Steve Jobs did for the personal computer revolution.

I asked myself what the f—k am I supposed to do with my f—king life, and the answer I got was, to build AI to make us supermen, go back to building LuminaLog.com, an AI journaling app I started in March 2024, don’t worry about the how, it will evolve and change, but the most important thing is to have a clear vision of where you want to achieve, that is an AI app that enables the individual user to become superhuman.

I reflected and meditated on the question of ‘what is my calling’? I remember one of the earliest times when I was about six or seven year old boy in Poland, when I was on my uncles farm in Padew Narodowa, I told people around me I wanted to be a farmer when I grew up. Then in college my first major was Environmental Studies. I dreamed of studying the planet Earth and making scientific discoveries that will push humanity forward. I took some amazing classes on this and discovered John Muir, Ralph Waldo Emerson and Henry David Thoreau. I was obsessed with them. I read Walden cover to cover about three times, then I got the audio book version and just listened to it in my car all the time. I would go fishing in the local forest preserve. Why did I feel this deep calling for this. Then I changed my major to Chemistry in my second year, I just felt it didn’t make sense. Then I changed to Polish Studies the next year, I discovered writers like Witkacy and Gombrowicz and I longed to discover more about what is Metaphysics, why was I as a guy born in Poland so different from everyone around me, I wanted to learn more about literature, Philosophy and history. I searched for what is my purpose. I read Joseph Conrad’s works and resonated deeply. Having the same name, and having a similar life story, maybe I needed to be a writer. I connected with a renown Polish Literature professor in my college and I was excited for the opportunity to have a connection with someone that can impart more wisdom and knowledge. I discovered many gems in this time.

After college I wasn’t sure what I was supposed to do. I really wandered. I met a girl that was a writer from one of the top colleges, Northwestern University. In a conversation she asked “do you write?” and made a gesture with her hand as if writing with a pen. Then I understood I needed to be writing every day, journaling, and that I needed to be a human being that writes and reads every day as I drink and eat every day. It’s just part of my identity.

Then I discovered coding. I went on a date with a beautiful girl. We went to the Art Institute, then a French Cafe in Chicago’s beautiful downtown. She was 24 I was 26, just about to turn 27. At the cafe, she told me about her friend that was a music major, and that after not finding any work after graduation, she joined a coding bootcamp. She was spending all her time studying coding and had no more time to meet with friends. I was instantly amazed, how can a person become a programmer at this age, I thought you needed years of training and college degree. From that day on, I will always remember it was middle of May 2016, the most beautiful time of the year. I felt very sad that time was slipping away and I still didn’t know what I was supposed to be doing with my life. From that day on my life instantly changed, I realized there was nothing more that I wanted then to be a coder. To me this realization was that coding is a tool for your self evolution. You become a superhuman when you learn to code. It teaches you how to think.

I remember sitting in a cafe in February 20216, in Uptown, a beautiful ‘outpost cafe’ in an old 1920’s building. It was a regular work week, I was on my MacBook Air, doing some research about possible careers, noting that the demand for programmers was very high and it was very high paid job. I was writing my in my paper journals, and thinking about what to do with my life, then I remember realizing that I needed to become better at thinking. That I grow and make progress by thinking better, writing makes me think better and that learning to program, you are forced to spend hours doing very difficult thinking, and that it was an even better way to develop your thinking more then writing. I realized there was no better way to make money, then to get paid to develop and sharpen your thinking. You are essentially getting paid to become better and develop your highest most powerful faculty that humans have.

That is why I was called to create an AI journal, because I need to be writing every day, and with AI baked into your writing, you instantly get a second infinitely expanded thinking capacity. This insight convinced me this is what I need to be working on.

In conclusion, I found my purpose, that is to build AI tools for making each individual super human. This is my purpose because it is the cause that I can apply my talents, my brain power, my life energy that will have the highest good for the most people. It is my way to say thank you to the Universe for giving me this beautiful gift of life. It is my hope and dream to build tools that will make my home city of Chicago, my other home in Poland, and for all people on Earth to flourish, for all kids and adults to turn their inherent great potential into actuality. Yes being a writer, being a farmer or an Environmental Studies scientist, are all amazing things to be doing, I have to focus, I have to choose one. I choose this mission to build AI tools to make humans Superhuman.

It is Sunday and I am in Patong, Phuket in Thailand. This is the day to write an essay and to go to a temple. I woke up and wrote down notes about last nights break throughs and insights as it was a very special night. The word ‘Memory’ was ringing in the echos of my mind as it came to me the night before, having a special secret meaning of how we view the world. The human being is like a computer, with a stack of actions and thoughts, access to some memory, a process flowing, a story we tell ourselves. If you know how a CPU works, this is pretty much the human brain as well. If you’re interested I recommend taking the nand 2 tetris MOOC (massively online open course) on Coursera. It takes you on a journey to explain how a computer works from simple gates to high level programming languages.

Yesterday as I danced in the big open auditorium of a memorable night club located a block away from my hotel. I was looking at the DJ, the people and lights around that AI generated video is changing how the human brain sees the world. This is exciting and rapidly changing our fabric of reality. I felt this excitement to build better tools for creating AI videos. My app AvaCreator just had this great name and it’s already live on the app store, I feel a good feeling about this. I know there are a thousand things I can be working on that are very exciting and promising but the truth is I need to focus if I am going to make anything succeed.

The word Memory came to me, somehow this anime called ‘Memories’ by one of my favorite anime film makers ‘Katsuhiro Otomo’, the same creator of Akira and SteamBoy, came up on my twitter feed. I googled it and found it on Amazon Prime. I knew it was the perfect thing to watch. The world of Anime is magic, human beings free from any limitations can create any story their minds can imagine. This is the magic of anime that has been possible since the earliest examples in the 30s. I loaded it on my Vision Pro and laid down on the surface of the moon at night and looked up to watch the film. A fantastic story about a world renown woman singer that died in 2005 but that preserved her memory in a giant computer and it was now being explored on a rescue mission initiated by a team of astronauts in the year 2092. The astronauts suddenly found themselves living in the simulation, one of them in the role of the husband, with a little girl Emily that was eagerly admiring her father and wanting to be an astronaut herself. The dialog was fantastic, the scifi cyberpunk world vision of 1995 is so resonant. The themes of cypher punk, of the early computer history, of the matrix, of Bitcoin, and Ethereum, echoed in my mind from the night before. I was attracted to dig deeper into the nature of humanity and technology.

My mind came up with memories of reading ‘Transhumanism: Engineering the Human Condition” at the AGI House in Twin Peaks SF, at a reading night meetup came to me. I was amazed that I was so fortunate to be there to read that book and talk about it briefly in the gathering of some dozen brilliant SF dreamers. I felt amazed that I was actually able to travel the world and speak with some brilliant people at crypto conferences. How many people get to do that, to feel the evolution of technology right there in front of them and taking part in the activity. I sensed this amazing significance of this town called Zion, where an Irish Australian Priest created a perfect Christian town one hour north of Chicago, one of the most mystical cities on Earth. How lucky was I that I happened own a beautiful home in this fantastic town. Life is so much more fantastic then fiction.

On the topic of Memory, I finished the first episode of three of the anime and then it was nearly four PM. I decided to grab my backpack, fill it with my drone, a towel, my MacBook and goPro. I put on my gray baseball cap and went out into the hot sunny street of Patong.

I walked up to a temple on a mountain. The walk up there took me up a busy sketchy Thai road, full of buzzing traffic. I made it to the mountain view point, made some amazing drone shots and then explored the Buddhist temple that was white shining against the green mountain side that I had been looking at for the past three months of my stay here. I meditated in the temple feeling deep gratitude for having a deeply full life, of having a good heart that feels the world deeply. I prayed for my dreams to come true of building impactful technology startups. I noticed details of the Buddhist statues. I was reminded of my times in the beautiful Art Institute in my home town of Chicago. When I spent hours studying art from various eras, including Ancient Greece which always resonated with me deeply.

I kept repeating to God “show me how good life can get” today and last night. I started the day with an exercise called “the perfect day” in which you imagine the perfect day happening today, without any limitations. I imagined getting a $100,000 USD investment in crypto at the end of the day to build my AR smart glasses startup. I imagined going to a church, sleeping in late, and ending the day with some laptop writing and activity.

As I was in bed, still recovering and catching up on sleep in the late afternoon, I reflect on how live streaming allows the human consciousness to reach massive number of other conscious beings. How the invention of the video recorder, democratized film making and that anyone can be a film maker or a film star. Indeed each individual human is an endlessly fascinating Universe of their own, and a video of them being, acting, deciding, contributes to the furthering of the computational nature of the Universe. The insight that every event that happens is exactly as it should be, because the universe is a computational in it’s nature, meaning that every instance is exactly as it should be. We can make quantum jumps to be in the Universe we want to be. We just have to believe in it. This is my mission with Manifestly. This is my AI app that allows you to create a manifestation, then it sends you daily affirmations to remind you of it. In my next version, I am making a feature where you can ask your future self a question from the quantum Universe you want to jump in, then that version of you will answer your question to help you bring yourself closer to it.

I watched snippets of YouTube video on a successful startup founder that created a ‘Tinder for Jobs’ sharing his lessons and insights on taking it from an idea to growing it to a startup that makes six figures per month. I realized that this is the time where you can build any startup you really want and make it successful, so don’t be an indiehacker but think big, think really big, tackle a big vision. I also watched a short documentary about the sinking of Japans only super carrier during WW2, the “Shinano.” The dramatic suffering of it’s crew as it sank must have been beyond nightmarish. The tense action of the submarine crew stalking it for hours, evading detection and then striking it with six torpedo hits, then standing still at the depth of four hundred feet under the stalking Destroyers that were searching for it, but because of the lack of sonar had no target to direct it’s depth charges at. The stories of these human beings in this conflict are dramatic and gripping. The history of humanity is much more fantastic then fiction can ever be.

I was reminded randomly of the museum of wonders that was in LA that was the subject of a book I read in college called “Mr. Wilsons Cabinet of Wonder". This was a book that captured the fantastic side of the Universe. I was also reminded of a mysterious death of two TV repairmen that were found dead in the 60’s of Sao Paulo Brazil, who had strange lead eye masks on and who may have been trying to communicate with inter dimensional beings. The topic of UAP’s and beings from other dimensions kept coming to my mind last night. I remember my early childhood fascination with Aliens. When I found myself in the USA, in the libraries, I found that the books on aliens were the ones that to me made the most sense to study out of all the books. I was also fascinated by books like Ripley’s Believe it or Not, which captured the magic of the late 19th century age of exploration and invention so well. I remembered Buckminster Fuller and his book “The Operating Manual for Space Ship Earth” how he talked about sailors as being the natural innovators and the truly most powerful humans that ruled the world and in being in competition with the humans that lived inland. That the activity of exploring the Earth and being forced to constantly invent new things to keep themselves alive and enrich themselves through trade, created the inventions that in our current times, are the same as the technologists creating computers and worlds of software.

All these insights were hitting on my natural attraction to things like personal growth, of science, of engineering, of adventure, of traveling and exploring the world. The thoughts of the book ‘hitch hikers guide to the galaxy’ came to me, I read almost every book by Douglas Adams in college. I was obsessed with him. I was so shocked about his temperament, his heart, his world view in his writings, it was true, simple, and yet so profound. It gave me heart that I myself have some value too in my world view, in my own experience of living. That I too can offer valuable insights through my own natural heart compass. It kept coming to me that ‘the heart has it’s reasons which reason knows not.’ When I felt upset at someone, for treating me badly, it was alright, the heart has it’s reasons, feel it, let it be, let it go. I felt the sweet lessons of my own past of being overly sensitive, overly stressed and anxious, overly worried and fearful. I felt that these things melted away. I know it will be alright and that what will come is better then what was lost.

This is the feeling I am ending this Sunday with. It is a feeling that last night was a turning point, even though I did not find the romance that maybe my heart was longing for. Even though I connected with a few beautiful souls that I imagined were the one for me, one named ‘Iliana.’ To me in the moment, that sounded like The Iliad, and in some way it made sense that the Odyssey was about maturing, and the Iliad is about finding the courage in yourself to find your true love, to overcome the challenges and fear in order to get to your fullest expression of being, with the one you love. Then I met one beautiful star named ‘Grace’ and we danced, she was the most beautiful, it ended up that she already had a partner and was not interested in finding a new one. I let these things go and looked forward to getting sweet sleep, the most precious thing in the world. Today after hiking up to the temple, and then coming down and walking across the beach, then sitting to write this with an iced matcha drink in a cafe, feeling the natural happy chemicals my body produced after a day full of movement, deep insights and creative action. I feel today is a beautiful day. I feel I have a beautiful life and I am eager to get after my dreams with a renewed conviction, intelligence and rage.

Observations on Sunday Morning Commute

I left the house and I heard a man screaming about the bible as I waited for the bus. He ranted about how everyone needs to read the bible, to not do bullshit, to honor their father and mother and to read the word of the lord. He rambled semi-coherently, sprinkling words like ‘mother-f—-er’.

It left me feeling wondering about what this person is like, about what their life story is, about how at some point the human being can find meaning in this kind of preaching of some truth that they sense is the most important and valuable thing they can do for the world. They are doing their best to give to the world what they can. They are out there preaching on a Sunday morning on the street. I reflect on how I perhaps would be better if I was actually at church at this ten AM on a Sunday. The practice of going to mass is something that still has power to make your life healthy through the practice of getting together with a community to cultivate a vision about what is a good life, about what is morality.

On the bus ride to the SF Commons I texted with a friend who is Ukrainian and helping his friends on the front fight this very brutal and long war. He told me that he was dealing with a big loss, that his friends unit was hit and that there were many injured and one dead. They had been fighting for a long time, since the start. He told me how he wished that no one would ever have to go through this hell in the world, and that he wished this would be the last war. I reflect on how war has shaped us, how it has shaped the abilities of each of us, our traumas, our successes, the history of humankind is made through war. I went over in my mind the casual conversations that were had last night at a rooftop in the mission, at a birthday party, around what is the meaning of America, is it a nation and other conversations about the war in Ukraine.

Voice Assistants the Way Forward for Evolution of Human Consciousness

In the morning as I walked across the Mint Plaza, as I do every day, as I leave my place, I reflected on how our ability to communicate through speech really defines everything in the world about us, about our earning power, about our intelligence, about our sensitivity, our emotional state. Through speech we allow information to flow through us and we contribute back to the world. Now I am really captivated by this vision of using AI voice agents to allow us to evolve faster. Through conversations with AI we can accelerate our learning. The fastest way to learn some new topic is through conversations and a lot of time spent around someone that knows this topic well. As the cost of AI voice agents that are effectively super human level falls so low, then we are able to rapidly evolve our consciousness through the daily conversations with our agents. I believe that we are at the edge of the floodgates being open where everyone is talking with their AI’s most hours of the day and experiencing a really fast evolution of their personal growth, skill development and accelerated learning.

Introduction

This is a compilation of various life event journaling and exploration of ideas that are top of mind this week. This is all human written by myself unless explicitly specified otherwise.

Updates on Building LuminaLog

For over two months I have been using my AI powered journal LuminaLog every day for multiple sessions. It was very impactful to me this week. I use the dictation tool, to explore my ideas and develop them. I felt very energized by being able to talk at length about things that are on my mind, then see the writing transcribed and have the ability to get a summary and ask questions to an AI that’s aware of my journal. Since Monday this was really the most important part of all my days. I found myself transcribing 10,000 to 20,000 words per day.

I explored ideas that were of critical importance to me. For example, about how to balance self love and self care with work towards achieving some goals, how to motivate yourself, how to decide what should be your priority. I created a new feature that is a page that lists all of your journals and displays an AI generated summary of them.

Seeing my journals stretch back until late April, which is over two months, gave me a sense of cycles and levels that my mind and life goes over. I sensed that this ability to produce lots of words, of concepts, of narratives, that explored my experiences, thoughts, ideas, hopes and plans, was really powerful, and indeed this is where my life actually was happening. This space is where I live and where I grow and where I get to know myself and actually co-create myself.

Life Week Overview

This week I was pretty focused on working and it was pretty productive. I met with a friend and co-worked on Monday. We had many deep conversations and it shifted many things for me. It reminded me that I really need more deep connections with friends, with whom I can share my experiences and get advice about situations. After that experience I was feeling really energized and motivated to keep developing a network of close friends.

I kept journaling throughout the week and this was an important part of my days. Through my journaling I refined the vision for what would be my main focus of my entrepreneurial efforts: emotionally intelligent voice AI mentors. This was made possible through the discovery of the power of emotionally intelligent AI that’s available through API platforms like Hume AI. Now I have started implementing this in my app LuminaLog.com.

The rest of the week I continued journaling, going to Muay Thai training and documenting life through Instagram reels.

I was really inspired by this interview with CEO and co-founder of Intercom, Eoghan McCabe. The YouTube content by Alex Hormozi and Leila Hormozi on the topics of entrepreneurship, continuous learning and mindset has been extremely valuable for me this week.

This week was the first week of Buildspace Nights & Weekends Season 5, which is an online course for creators, builders and entrepreneurs that strongly resonates with me. I completed the one liner that captures the essence of my project, and shared it with the world on social media. Here it is:

On Saturday and Sunday I teamed up with a few other Vision Pro developers and we organized our own hackathon. We spent a whole two days in this coworking space working on our Vision Pro projects.

Key Insights for Future of Human Computer Interfaces

In the early part of the week I wrote down a lot of inspiring ideas that painted a vision of what is possible with AI tools for personal growth. The key insight was this vision for an emotionally intelligent voice AI that had long term memory on interactions with you, your profile, awareness of your goals and your progress. This picture of a vivid experience of having an engaging conversation that is critical for feeding your growth and learning. This very vivid image of this experience, to me was an insight into what is possible and what the future of human and computer interaction will be like.

This sensation of having an engaging conversation with another intelligent being, through voice and being available 24/7 is a new break through. It opens up a new augmentation of thinking and a new symbiotic relationship we can form with the computer. I sensed that this vision needs to be kept alive, it needs to be repeated, it needs to take it’s place as the centerpiece of what I am directing all of my efforts towards.

The vision of this experience being practical, being performed daily for many hours, by hundreds, then thousands, then millions and then billions of people daily, fired me up with excitement. I had the clear realization that here I have a list of concrete steps that I can take, that will directly lead to making a dent in the universe. It would lead into making an immensely positive impact on the world. The articulation, the reiteration of this vision is just as important as the steps taken to build it with code. The technology for this is here and I have the skills necessary to make it a reality within the next two weeks. This is the key thing that was discovered and developed through the hours of journaling that I did this week.

My Journey: Building AI Companions for Personal Growth and Self-Discovery

I've been grappling with the need for consistent long-term memory in AI, the importance of creating believable and relatable AI personalities, and the technical hurdles of integrating various AI technologies like speech recognition and emotional analysis.

My ultimate goal is to democratize access to high-quality personal development tools through AI. I believe that everyone should have the opportunity to benefit from personalized guidance and support in their journey of self-discovery and growth.

As I continue to work on LuminaLog, I'm also focusing on my own personal growth. My journals reflect my commitment to self-reflection, goal-setting, and continuous learning. I'm learning to balance self-love and self-acceptance with the pursuit of mastery and achievement.

The process of building this tool has been transformative for me. It's not just about coding and product development; it's about developing a holistic understanding of myself and others. I'm investing in my inner work, cultivating emotional intelligence, and striving to embody the principles I want my AI companions to promote.

Conclusion

I have been watching the Pacific HBO mini-series this week, it has colored my days with thoughts returning to the realization how luck I am to have this life and not have to fight in a war. It inspires reflections on the nature of war, of humanity, of where we come from and where we are going, of what the individual human experience is like and how it fits in with history and humans organizing into nations. The main theme this week was using LuminaLog for daily journaling as a corner stone of organizing my thinking and effectively using my time and resources. Truly for me it has changed how I go through my week and how I discover and learn who I am and what I am here for. I discovered this key insight about a core mechanic that I can implement myself and that is the seed of a new paradigm of human computer interfaces, a vision of AI voice mentors with high EQ.

Introduction

This is a space for weekly public journaling, for exploring topics, ideas and events that are top of mind for this week. I am passionate about building AI applications to push humanity forward.

Odesza at The Greek Theater in Berkeley

When I first discovered Odesza around 2016 I was really amazed that this music exists. I was filled with hope and optimism about the future since then, because this true and pure human music existed. Since then they have been my favorite music and I was very surprised and lucky to be able to go see them in this beautiful setting of the Berkley University Greek Theater venue on Thursday June 13, 2024.

Towards the end of the set, on the big screen on the stage there appeared an animation of the human hand, thin, rising up against the backdrop of a dark sky. They hand was this symbol of human ingenuity, of us as creators, as tool makers, as inventors. The hand and the brain working together is what makes humans unique among the animal kingdom. Next appears an animation of a person walking through a blizzard in a very ancient looking landscape. This touched a deep part of humanity, a core part of what we are about. To see this live in the modern age, to see this sense being expressed and honored and presented in a work of art gave me hope for the future because I saw that this was art that reached to the core of what humanity is all about. We as humanity can renew ourselves. We can reinstate our conception of ourselves in the universe. We can still overcome the destructive effects of technology and we can be still flourish in the new technological landscape.

This sense of the art, this sense of feeling what is really worth living for, desire to create, to push humanity forward. To sense that this is alive and well is what lights me up. This sense is cultivated and nourished here in the Bay Area. It is about the tall redwood trees that are here. It is connected to the mountains and the sea here. It is felt in the climate, in the plants and flowers. It is felt in the spirit of the history here. I felt it when I walked through Berkley campus, when I walked through Palo Alto, when I walked through the Embarcadero in San Francisco. This is the magic that makes me want to stay here, to put up with all of the difficulties that are real here. This is the reason why I kept returning here.

When I came here to attend hackathons I would go to the Computer History Museum and feel like I was at home. I felt that this is the place for me. This area is where I want to live. I want to be around the people that are creating with technology. There is a danger of forgetting this. Indeed I had at times lost track of this sense in the last 8 months or so that I’ve lived here. Many times I asked myself why stay here when I can live abroad, going on adventures, traveling new countries, meeting with people that are from diverse backgrounds.

To be able to articulate what it is that attracts me here is really valuable. Then I can really better be able to make decisions, to build my convictions and future life on unshakable foundations. There is no other place that I know of in the world where humanity can be so pure and free. Free from concepts, from ideology, from authoritarianism, from fear. We are often talking about what we understand and what we see right now as the truth, only to later look back on how we thought and see that we have evolved from that and we have deepened our understanding and ability to express our beliefs.

I see that someone on YouTube published a recording of this concert, which is so precious. I was very sad that I didn’t bring my GoPro and record the set myself. Indeed this was probably one of the best moments to capture on video. Here is the video from another performance from this tour.

AI Tinkerers in Palo Alto

On Tuesday June 11th, I took the Caltrain to Palo Alto to demo my AI journaling startup “LuminaLog” at this meetup. This is a series of meetups that happens in many cities around the world. The ones in San Francisco are always packed so this one was a bit smaller and more intimate.

My demo went fairly well. It would have been better if I did less talking on the powerpoint slides and more going over the demo and the user flows of the app. I spent a lot of time talking about the intentions, the core mechanic and the philosophy of the app and why I was building it. The slides also had too much text on them. After the demo I got to chat with the other presenters and many of the attendees. I met some really interesting people this way as always.

On Developing a Sense of What is Good Work

Being an artist you develop a skill set that is more then just technical. You also develop a sensibility, a kindness to yourself, a gentleness and an ability to have a strong sense of what is beautiful, good and what is true in yourself and in the human spirit. This is an area that also can be studied and your understanding can be deepened here. It is very valuable and applicable to many areas of life, just as much as technical skills. I was very much impacted by ‘The Artists Way’ as guide.

I completed the exercises described in this book first in 2018. Since then it in fact does require multiple passes again. There are other books on the topic of creativity that are exceptional guides in our present era. This exploration and development of your spirit and creativity takes work at the same time it is very rewarding. It may take years before you start recognizing the results and benefits. It takes many passes and returns to the same place and the same exercises in order to grow in this area of being an artist, of creativity, of feeling like you are using your creativity well and that you are doing something that is valuable. The other books that are top of my mind on this topic is ‘The War of Art’ and ‘The Creative Act.’

Seeing Odesza this week and going to the ‘Accelerate Learning Hackathon’ at The AGI House in Twin Peaks has brought this idea of taking seriously your efforts cultivating your artistic and creative side, to the forefront of my mind.

Accelerate Learning Hackathon

I was really not going to attend this hackathon. In the morning on Saturday I felt that I needed to stay all day at my desk at the coworking space and work on my AI startup LuminaLog.com since I didn’t make as much progress as I intended to during the week. I did a morning voice journaling in the morning in the phone booth, as I did every day this week. This practice is really good for focusing your mind, for finding out what is your view on things. I often found myself going deeper into topics and coming up with conclusions that were different then what I had initially started with. Through journaling I came to the conclusion that I actually needed to go to the Hackathon on Saturday. I had this really attractive idea of building a website that took a book PDF and created mind maps and summaries of the content. I knew that I needed to commit and go to hackathons regularly and be part of the community and at the same time be committed to building a great hackathon project and presenting and demoing it with skill.

At the hackathon I was happy to be there among friends and people that were interested in building. I chatted with old friends and met some new people. I happened to start a conversation organically with an Australian startup founder, we bonded over both seeing Odesza and going to Burning Man. Over the hackathon we worked together and did a really good presentation. You can find it here:

At the end I chatted with other presenters and the vibe was really good. I learned a lot from the other people there. I made some new friends.

Conclusion

Here Is a photo of me sitting and writing this post at the SF Commons on Sunday. This week top of mind was thoughts about what is true art and how to make it. Inspired by the Odesza concert that made me remember what is really true and beautiful about the human spirit. About how to be an artist that really knows how to listen to their intuition, how they treat themselves and what they decide to create. These are important considerations about what is true love and self expression. It is something that is relevant for creative technologists like myself. You have to find your way as an artist, to be able recognize what is beautiful and what is true and good within yourself and be able to surface it to the world through your creations.I am doing this through the practice of going to hackathons and of creating a startup LuminaLog.com for self-development.

Craft Ventures HackAIthon

This is a hackathon that is organized for the second year in a row by Craft Ventures. The theme is AI agents. It is unusual for a hackathon to be hosted on a Tuesday and Wednesday. I was excited to participate anyway. It was a very well organized and well funded hackathon. The food and snacks were high quality, the sponsors were there with prominent people in the space serving as judges and speakers. The prizes here pretty big too, $10,000 for the first prize and $5,000 for second and third.

Here I built a set of AI agents on CrewAI that helped you with self-development. You would write your daily journal, then send it off to the group of agents which then would analyze the entry, come up with a list of advice, insights and action items. The AI agents were hosted on CrewAI Plus platform. Which automatically deploys your CrewAI GitHub repo onto a server and gives you a production ready API endpoint. Then I wrote code on the front end to display a UI that would trigger the request, send the journal content and then display the response and save it in a database.

MemGPT Meetup

On Thursday I went to catch a meetup around the open source - long term memory AI agents project called MemGPT. This was only a short walk from my home and I am very interested in the leading projects in this space of long term AI memory like this one so I had to attend. I am interested in this space because my startup LuminaLog.com is built upon and can be improved by various techniques for implementing AI long-term memory.

This week I had published a new reel on Instagram to summarize and describe the AI journaling app. I made some improvements to the landing page and UI on mobile mode. This week was not very high in output on this startup because I did the Hackathon. On Friday there was a coworking event down the street from me where I met people building in AI and crypto. I watched a discussion featuring Illia Polosukhin the co-founder of Near protocol and co-author of the ‘Attention is All You Need’ paper which is one of the most influential in the current AI boom.

Conclusion

This week I participated and built a AI agents for self development proof of concept app. I demoed it to the judges and met many really cool people at this hackathon. I improved the AI journaling startup LuminaLog by improving the UI, landing page new sections and creating content on Instagram. I attended the MemGPT meetup to stay up to date on latest long-term memory AI agents tech.

Look back on journals from 2019

Looking back at old journals. How things have changed. What are the blind spots? What lessons do you see?

Looking back on journals from early 2019. I was focused on finding a new job, moving from a smaller web development company to something that paid better and ideally was located in downtown Chicago. I was already almost two years to learning to code and working in the field. It was interesting that I managed to achieve those goals. By the end of the year I was living in the West Loop, going to work every day at a company that was exactly what I wanted to find. It was not really all perfect though, there was a lot of complexity here that I will not go into. In the beginning of 2019 I was writing things that were similar to what I am experiencing how, about how to build a startup, how to build an app that gets regular users. What I wrote then, is still valid. It is still something that I was making progress, yet looking back on it now, I can see that the big mistake I was making was that I was too isolated. I did not post about my projects publicly anywhere, I didn’t tweet, I didn’t engage in reddit conversations, I wasn’t part of any IRL communities. I wasn’t going to meetups, I wasn’t attending hackathons. I was really building things on my own and then it felt like there was this big gap from where I was to a state where someone would be using my app and would be willing to pay for it.

After five years, I can look back and see that I have made the steps necessary to get to the point where I see the right path to take to get to an app that has business success. Currently I am part of IRL communities, I go to meetups, hackathons and publish online about my work. I have implemented these things that I identified as being critical. What is next is needed is that I continue on this path of building, putting things out there, talking to users and iterating on the design and development. What is required is that I keep building, believing in the product, to keep using it myself, to keep getting feedback and improving it. I can look back and say that I have implemented the changes that I needed to make.

Building something that changes the world

We have right now the open window of opportunity to build something that changes the world. For example allowing one billion people to get ahead in life by education, by connection, by entrepreneurship by the use of a well designed AI tool. Being motivated by a vision of what the future can be like.

How being a developer is an art and building products is an art. To get better at this you need to keep exploring, to keep learning, to meet other developers that are ahead of you and learning from them. To keep improving your products. To keep pitching things and talking to VC’s and customers. To keep growing. To keep the eye on the metrics, the KPI’s and to keep taking massive action to accomplish those things that help you to get to the next stage.

When building products, you can get to the stage where you just created something out of thin air, a new social custom, a new practice, like for example people staying in AirBnB’s or driving Uber’s, this was not a normal thing before the founders came and build them. They created this new social reality and a new way for people to make a living. It required a degree of courage to go through all of the difficulties, all the challenges, all the doubt from others, all of the hard work without knowing if it will lead to anything.

When building a business you are really building a new life for yourself and for others. You are creating a new world. You are creating the future. It is value generation when you are using your intelligence, to create something new that creates value for people.

Hosted a VR Dev Hack Night meetup

This is a nice service to the community. People really like that someone organizes this thing where people can come together and work or study on the same subject. They can have the opportunity to exchange ideas, to share what they’re working on, and it is a space where they can be motivated and keep each other accountable to get things done. They can be inspired by other people’s work, ideas or approaches. It is very important to have this kind of community. I feel very strongly that organizing this kind of space does a lot of good for the world. It is motivating me to keep going even though it is a lot of work, to organize it, you have to block off a part of your time, you have to be there and do this work of setting up the space, of mediating it, of being there the whole time and being responsible. The benefits are really significant on the other hand. You make a lot of connections, you build a community, you build credibility and you discover a lot of new things.

On what LuminaLog.com is about

On having a clear mission statement, a brand, values, a clear target user and keep reiterating them. For me the target user is someone like me, that is a person that is curious about the world, that is feeling urgency to turn his potentiality into reality, that grows, that keeps learning, that travels, that discovers distant lands, that connects with a variety of people, that builds communities, that studies, that does martial arts, that practices meditation, prayer and conversations. Picture this kind of ideal customer persona, a person in their 20’s - 30’s that is determined to grow and to learn. I am building this product for this kind of person. LuminaLog.com is the product for the kind of person that loves the Whole Earth Catalog. That is excited about AI, that is interested in meditation, that travels, that is a digital nomad, that is curious about the world, that is hopeful for the future and is motivated to actualize their potential. This is the user persona.

I had a meeting with a VC this Friday morning and I got a lot of good insights into what is key questions to answer in the startup journey. It is critical to have a clear picture about who the target audience is. It is also critical to know clearly what problem you are solving. For LuminaLog.com the problem is that there is no way to create with AI, that is writings, art, video, and to have it in one place. There is no way to write your thoughts, your journals, and then have the AI get to know you, and over time be able to provide personalized recommendations, to give you insights, to give you feedback on your thoughts, to find the right information for you. Journaling is one of the critical components of living an examined life. Journaling becomes an extension of our minds.

The key benefits of journaling is that it is like an external memory that doesn’t fail. Adding an AI here makes it possible to make connections with other areas that you previously were not aware of. It is able to make associations when you’re thinking or talking about something related. It makes connections you were not aware of before. This really becomes a second brain. This really becomes a way for you to organize your thinking, to get to know yourself better, to get to know your past. To find out what lessons exist in your experiences. Truly it is analogous to the ancient Greek myth of Theseus making his escape out of the maze of the minotaur. It is a tool to live an examined life. It is a tool to communicate yourself to the world. It is a tool to express yourself. It is a tool to develop your ideas. It is a tool to discover what is inside of you, to discover yourself, and to create yourself through time, through reflections, through talking, through conversations with the AI.

LuminaLog.com has an enormous opportunity. The key aspects to this app is that it can build a community. The key to the success here is that it can help people actualize their potential. This is the mission that I am excited about. What LuminaLog allows you to do is to share with the world more of yourself, to share your journals, those that you choose to make public, so that the world can get to know you more, to see what makes you tick. Then it can find you the people that will make you grow, that will help you get ahead by bringing to you the content that is most valuable to you and allows you to learn more faster.

Building something that you use every day is a key component to success. If you get a lot of joy out of your products, your apps, and you’re using them every day, then you will improve them, you will be able to authentically promote them.

Conclusion

This week was about making incremental progress on LuminaLog, discovering that I need to refine the mission statement, the target audience and the problem that I am solving. Looking back on 2019 I see things that are repeating and things that I have made a much progress in. Next week I will keep improving the app, doing social media marketing. On physiological state of an entrepreneur’s life

The key to success is really about how you feel. This is your physiological state. You have to feel confident. This is why so many athletes are chosen to be CEO’s because they habitually develop a sense of physiological confidence from physical activity, and being competitive in sports. Confidence leads to perceived competence. This is a quote sourced from the online course ‘Foundations of Entrepreneurship’ by Chris Haroun. Find the full course on YouTube here. Another important lesson in this course is that confidence is the most important thing in business, and that it’s necessary to have ‘off the charts level of confidence.’

This is an important idea. It is not really talked about when you are learning some skill, like for example, when you’re starting out and learning to code, or design, or any technical skill. It is not talked about how you should feel good and confident in your abilities. For entrepreneurs this is critical. That is why it is very important to be an athlete. No matter what your age, your profession, your life purpose, being an athlete means you do some exercise or sport daily.

In my case I do running, weight lifting and Muay Thai. Particularly Muay Thai is good for this as it is a combat sport where you use your whole body to practice a primordial action of human beings, to fight. You tap into a mental state of a warrior.

It is a horrifying fact of life, that humanity has walked from disaster to disaster, from wars, famines, and other natural disasters periodically that pushed human beings to the brinks of physiological limits, often having resort to primordial animalistic struggles for survival. From this bottom edge of human ability to live all of our civilizational structures arise.

They get to release the stresses and worries of the week, and become creative, move their bodies, unlock new physiological states of happiness, feel joy, feel connected to the music and feel exultation.

On the most important skill being self encouragement

Everyone has successes and failures. As kids we are taught by our parents, teachers, and people around us what is the way to recognize success, how to define it. It is passed down not through words, mostly it is feeling, it is the thoughts we have, it is unspoken truth of what is felt in the heart. These things are communicated through body language. Your attitude towards yourself is developed this way, it is imprinted on you from the people around you as a child. Sometimes it can be not constructive, sure it was evolved over centuries and eons of human social evolution. In different cultures there are different patterns of conditioning for the attitude that you take towards yourself and your work. Often it can be harmful and can be improved. I believe that the most important skill to learn in life is this ability to have a positive relationship towards yourself. To value your own attempts at a goal, to encourage yourself when you did not achieve it, and most importantly to celebrate the wins, and recognizing that they are not small, but that they are very significant and important to take time to appreciate them.

Your mental state, what you are able to remember and focus on through the day is critical. This is who you are. As Ralph Waldo Emerson once said, your thoughts become your words, words become actions, actions become your character, and your character becomes your destiny. What you think about all day is everything. This is why I am really excited about building an AI journaling app. Because you are able to dump all of your thoughts, through accurate speech-to-text and then AI can be your soundboard, give you feedback and very personalized advice. It will immediately show you your blind spots. Over time, doing this every day, your thinking changes, you see new possibilities and the speed of your own evolution increases. This is a cause I believe in, something that in my life has been the critical practice for self development and it is something I want to spread to the world.

It is critical that you are able to remember your accomplishments and successes. It is critical that you are able to stay in this mental state of recognizing that you are not yet where you want to be and yet that you have gotten better and you are still learning.

Being able to keep your eye on the goal, to believe in yourself and at the same time be able to support, encourage and practice self care, is the most important ability we need to teach people. It is required in order to succeed in life.

This week I have been contemplating how a physiological state of confidence is critical for success in business, how AI applications are going to change our world and how self encouragement is a critical skill for life.
